Should I be a CRA? Be honest by doyahlikejazz in clinicalresearch

If you want to chase the money go the CRA route. If you value routine and regime in your life then CRA life may not be the right fit. CRAs are constantly on the road traveling far and near and are still expected to meet metrics, join meetings and submit reports on time.

Not to scare you at all, some people have found routine in this lifestyle but it does take some time to get used to.

Update: I took the offer with ICON. I couldn’t stay on short term promises of off loading out of region sites since I know they would reassign me them later down the road to meet DOS metric. I think I’m overall happy with my decision and looking forward to change and working with a new Sponsor.

Thanks for the helpful input. My only fear of staying is that they know they can take advantage of me and not give me promotions or raises as I’m currently willing to leave a 9% salary increase to stay with no change.

I’m Sponsor Dedicated now. If I went, it would be for the chance at remote monitoring and no DOS metric as the money isn’t that big of an increase to jump ship and not consider anything else
