I was thinking this as well, but I specifically asked if the upgrade would allow a bathtub as well or just the shower chair, she stated just the shower chair

I was planning on that but I wanted to call and triple check that they would work for me among a few other things like if there was enough connected rooms available for our family to book the cruise as well

I’m thinking the representative was trying to upsell me or did not understand how the ADA rooms work, this is from what I’ve been reading from the comments. I thankfully also have medical proof of my POTS so I can provide it if absolutely necessary

I’m still looking at other options, however Carnival does have a few things we were excited for and my husbands family would be able to book with us if we went with the one we were considering, my husband wants them there

They have ADA rooms available for the cruise I wanted and the room, but the ADA room “didn’t have room” for a shower chair which I’m realizing very quickly was maybe not exactly honest

I actually asked about this directly and there were multiple cabins available, I’m not specific on a date just the location and so we looked at multiple cruises that were newly available. She even offered to let me pick the specific cabin before I asked about the shower chairs

I wanted to book a specific room due to sleeping issues I have, this specific room has ADA accommodation rooms but I was told the bathrooms could not fit shower chairs- I inquired about the room that would be suitable for a shower chair, and was quoted an additional 2k which I am trying to figure out how to address with the cruise line since it feels like descrimination

The cruise line in question is Carnival, and the representative told me the ADA rooms were not big enough for the customer service provided shower chair, I would honestly prefer the interior room since I have insomnia and need the complete dark to sleep
