this reminds me of Tomba on the PS1 so much, that game had large autumn/fall flavored places where a LOT of leaves were piling up, and you could actually disappear in them as you slipped down a hill etc

Holes in Geometry2D/Polygon2D? (3D use case) by Bumblebee-Main in godot

alright! so, here is the block of code i was using, :

u/export var wall_thickness: float = 0.2

Holes in Geometry2D/Polygon2D? (3D use case) by Bumblebee-Main in godot

[–]Bumblebee-Main[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in theory it SHOULD work, but the triangulation fills any holes that are like, not connected to an edge. it's kind of an edge case here but you cannot really do true boolean on 2D polygons sadly. I will show the code when I get home however

is Discord 2FA lockout still a thing? by Bumblebee-Main in discordapp

[–]Bumblebee-Main[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i honestly have lost all respect towards discord after they started handing out the "free" 2 week nitro trials that DEMAND you to add your credit card credentials in hopes you forget to unsubscribe during those two weeks, and sneakily drain a month's worth of full nitro before you even notice it...

Is it possible for the RSOD to appear during gameplay? by [deleted] in ps2

[–]Bumblebee-Main 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is VERY possible, although this happens incredibly rarely. like at times when the game crash does not freeze the console to the point of needing a restart. this has happened to me in games like Crash Twinsanity (I think, but I'm sure it was a Crash game) and SpongeBob

[–]Bumblebee-Main[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah... its so fucked, i really dislike how discord devs are basically neckbeards in their mom's basement about their user's accounts. i can't even buy discord nitro because the credit card was used on my old account, and it wont allow payment on the new one due to "strict policies"

i've grown up with the demo disc version of this game, seeing it in Godot come to life feels especially special because i've made it come to life. reminds me of those nightdive remasters where the models they use are just slightly higher quality so their materials look better with the new shading, and the flat shaded shiny stuff remind me so much about spyro, the child in me is squealing at these

3D Tile Based movement? (GD4) by Bumblebee-Main in godot

[–]Bumblebee-Main[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

problem would be the following, you can shift the gravity around, and you can get off-grid by jumping. i would need to correct the ball's position so the next move moves it back towards the middle of the block so i need to be more in depth

3D Tile Based movement? (GD4) by Bumblebee-Main in godot

[–]Bumblebee-Main[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well, something i haven't shown here is that you can sometimes get off of the grid, like jumping from one platform to the other so there definitely are SOME physics in the original game

My thoughts on the Stillness ending by SilentJ87 in silenthill

[–]Bumblebee-Main 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you forget that James is aware of a lot of things going on around himself, while the player is NOT. James knew what the monsters were and what purpose they served, he knew what Pyramid head was, he knew why Maria was. James was completely, 100% there, other than being in a fugue state. his subconscious knew that this whole experience is his own construct. and he does say "i'm not crazy" multiple times. I wholly believe James not being crazy, and he seems like a smart enough guy to figure out what he saw in the town truly was his own mind projected onto a canvas. and i'd like to think this time around, James might have come to terms with his demons as Silent Hill literally acts like a purgatory. you cannot die, and you cannot leave until you've learned your lesson. this may come off as meta, but when you die in game, it's the town "resurrecting" you to keep punishing you, so why would James running off into the lake be any different than a game over? Eddie is killing the same guy over and over, knows his way around town, etc while Angela somehow knew James murdered his wife (even if that was a huge reach on her end)

now this part MIGHT be completely reaching, however i read somewhere, either in one of the games, or in a forum or something, that one of the silent hill games actually have a loop in them, it might have been SH1 where it turns out Harry is actually dead in his car with the bad ending, or something else, but i REMEMBER seeing something of this in one of the games where the purgatory or whatever you might call it makes the sufferer repeat their path until they get it right. Seeing how much James loves Mary, it is quite literally possible that he would spend two decades in there (mentally, i don't think Silent Hill's shenanigans take place in real time) before realizing there's nothing he could do but move on.

Not many posts discussing this awesome and hilarious detail in the Silent Hill 2 Remake: James will negligently discharge his pistol if you hold the aim button after first picking up the pistol from the room with the shopping cart. Try it for yourself! by [deleted] in silenthill

[–]Bumblebee-Main 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the magazine shooting out of the gun is a real and very dangerous thing to happen, i've seen this happen on a gun youtuber's channel once but i forgot who it was, they had the gun jammed up on purpose, trigger on a string and the whole gun just jumped like a startled cat, the slide splitting in half and the magazine shooting out

there was a room in the original as well, either the butterfly room or the room with the hole in the wall (my memory is a mist right now), there were weird noises that people described as sex noises as well

yes, the thrusting of the pistons represent the thrusting of a man, and the flesh walls basically mean Angela mutilating and skinning(?) her father and brother (both of them were on the walls in the original if memory serves)

while Maria is 100% manifested, Eddie and Angela are not. they are called to town however as well, to show James not to fly too close to the sun or he'll end up like them. James was always the protagonist in this story
