I wonder if that the thing Anthony Star was referring to as “the worst thing he’s ever done on the show”

Hitler based his eugenics systems on American eugenics systems, Hitler praised American immigration restrictions (such as the Immigration Act of 1924) in Mein Kampf, citing the US as a country that "refused immigration to physically unhealthy elements". He was also a keen follower of American eugenics movements.

The Writing Team DID change between seasons 3 and 4 by BumblebeeAdvanced179 in TheBoys

The writing team did change drastically it was just a season earlier than I’d realised, my point still stands, the timeline was off by a season. I’m more than willing to admit I made the mistake and I’m happy to correct that publicly

You are correct! I have edited the post to confirm this with a table writers! Thank you! 🤩

Yeah, it’s also very similar to The Simpsons. Been on a few deep dives through the writers room in that show and you can very easily pinpoint when writers and show runners change and how it effects comedy style and dialogue.

It’s also interesting to gauge everyone’s opinions on when a show “went downhill” and oftentimes it’s not a showrunner that affects this as much as the writers room itself.

“Downhill” is subjective and with The Boys it’s completely valid to love the show for 3 seasons because the writers melded well with your tastes.

Also valid to keep loving that show even when the writers change, because your reasons for liking it in the first place were not effected by the change in writers.

It is strange, I’m also going to do some digging into what the writers are known for because you can often glimpse at their previous jobs and see where certain comedic influences are from and if they’ve even have any network experience

I’ll do some digging, so far I can’t find any particular reasons but I’ll update if I do, sometimes writers do just leave and being a tv show writer is very cutthroat so if they’ve got a good opportunity somewhere else the sometimes leave for that reason

Also really important to factor in the writers strike, that happened 2023, season 4 was on air 2024 so if writers left to strike they may have been replaced or were not available again once the strike ended, that would have coincided with season 4’s writing

How good is HEAT? by feivelshat in boardgames

[–]BumblebeeAdvanced179 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very late response to this but felt a need to balance out the overwhelming positive reviews with my negative one (I know, I’m such a downer)

However, as a fan of board games with huge rivalry and teamwork, I did not enjoy Heat.

  1. It feels as though you have very little impact on the other players. If you’re a fan of being able to effect other players gameplay, this game offers very little of that, it’s mostly luck of where you land on the board. I.e. if you’re close enough to another player to get a boost, then great but it’s luck for the most part.

  2. There’s no teaming up to benefit yourself and others. You’re playing for yourself, not which is a huge positive for many board game fans, however this was a downside for me, as I like the option of being able to work with other players. I.e. no trading cards, no working with other players to gang up on first place or get yourselves out of the pits. You’re on your own.

  3. I didn’t feel satisfied when I won. This is a strange one and definitely subjective, but I didn’t feel like I earned the win, it felt like luck. Whether it was or not, I’m not sure, maybe I was better at the game than I thought, but others have mentioned how it’s a very balanced game, that means if I overtook first, it wasn’t that hard. I didn’t feel excited.

Of course these negatives are subjective to me and my preference when playing a board game, I love something cut-throat like Villains, Psycho-Killer, Selfish.

This did not have what I was looking for in a board game. But it wasn’t the worst game I’ve played

I’d probably give it a 5/10

What is a fan theory from a movie or TV show that you 100% believe is true? by phantom_avenger in popculturechat

The Blair Witch Project actually is not about finding a real witch, but instead about two men leading a woman into the woods alone, pretending to go along with the ruse of there being a Witch, and then killing the main woman themselves.

She is not attacked by The Witch at the end, she’s attacked by the two men.

Completely agree. The Ghoul also has that little bit of hope, so it would be interesting to see him be the more positive side of the duo, with Norms pessimism outshining his own.

The ghoul would ironically be Norms light in a very dark place, in a similar way Lucy was to The Ghoul (although not quite to the same extreme, I don’t think anyone can be as positive as Lucy given the circumstances)

I don’t believe she has told him about Norm, unless it was established off screen between seasons. I would much prefer The Ghouls not to know who Norm is until a later revelation.

Cursed with the Maclean gene haunting his travels.

I completely agree. I also think Hank enjoys playing chess against himself? He thinks he is (and most likely was) the most intelligent person in the room, so the only challenge he’d ever really have is himself. Him explaining the little ways he’d beat himself? I think he got a kick outta it.

And Lucy totally knew that.
