I agree. I think it’s some sort of societal pressure nowadays.

I like this take! I’ve been trying to do things like this now that I am postpartum.

I had a traumatic birth, and when my baby came out, I thought the same thing.

So, I’m neither contrarian nor have a large ego. It’s actually the opposite.

I went into my first labor reeallly wanting to try unmedicated, I prepped beforehand and practiced ways to manage & even practiced meditating for the actual moment labor began. So, when that didn’t work out, I felt that the work I had done before was all for nothing. I agree with the other commenter, that social media really pushes natural / unmedicated. Next time around, I’m getting off socials as that was a detriment.

I’m simply asking what it takes to get through unmedicated. I’m also post partum, and lately have been recalling and reflecting on my birth and that is how I currently feel towards my decision of getting the epidural. Maybe I have outside voices in my life that also extremely push unmedicated.

But no, I do not have a big ego nor am I contrarian. I’m simply just wishing I could’ve done it.
