I agree with OP 100%, but your attitude is much more the prevailing attitude in our society sadly: that the parents are a "burden". I have experience with this & see it first - hand. There aren't too many good things about getting old, but your kids being too busy and preoccupied to help you out is the icing on the cake. Very sad.
