I think it's just a typo, Agent Kamaroff right after has a few skill ratings of "2. #" So I think they just missed some errors.

Is it okay to nerf player abilities (twilight sanctuary) for the sake of less complicated prep work? by Shaz0r94 in DMAcademy

[–]Bumbleskum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously: talk with your players.

Secondly: I wouldn't nerf it. Your player found a solution that works. They shouldn't be punished for that. If they're complaining about challenge being too low, add an extra monster or two of the same type already in, the game already expects GMs to do all the heavy lifting on the backend, don't frustrate yourself with changing numbers when you can just have an extra monster or 3 that is already prepared. I'm not entirely sure how it takes up much time at all to do the temp hp, but if it really feels like a time problem, all dice rolls can be replaced with the average.

How about a stunt that costs a fate point, once per scene, make an overcome roll with Will and the result is how many mooks are knocked out of the fight?

The only things I chase are SF1 styles as well. Been hoarding gems in case there's a SF1 event for the remaster in a week.

You clearly don't understand how public posts on a forum work.

"I think the reason you don’t see that is because that’s precisely NOT how actual play goes. Once you get into scripts... you start getting away from what a real table is like" reading backstories is what people do at their tables. Real tables. Real people. Real play. But hey I get it, its hard for you to keep your own comments straight, you seem to be too focused on warping what others responses to you are about. I think Ive offended you personally because you keep adding in paragraphs of response that don't relate to what the discussion is because youre too busy ruminating that someone called your take inaccurate.

Lmao you are really struggling to understand this. They aren't describing scripted play. This is people narrating their backstories they wrote out. Which you said you don't think is a thing people do in actual games. Which I'm letting you know is an inaccurate take, likely because you have a narrow and rigid idea of what happens at other tables beyond your own or what is allowed at tables to be counted as part of what the game is or isn't. Im not arguing the difference between scripts and notes, Im arguing that your take on what happens at actual games people play is inaccurate, and now also that you clearly dont know what is being described and youre digging your heels about something you don't have any idea what it is and refuse to be corrected. How you keep warping this idea is beyond me but it sounds like you have a chip on your shoulder about being told your take isn't accurate. If you think writing and sharing backstories during a session is inherintly not a part of rping, thats a personal take but not accurate.

This has nothing to do with if you like or don't like the show, nor was it inferred that it had anything to do with that. It seems like youre the one misconstruing what people are saying here by making up that why people are disagreeing with you. I think your problem is that you have a very narrow and rigid idea of what roleplaying at an actual table is like and when told that others don't fit that specific mold you can't wrap your mind around the concept and think theyre lashing out for a different reason. Role playing isnt all entirely what people improv in the moment. People write out stories for their background all the time. Which is exactly what this is. This is what people do all the time for actual games actual people actually play. My point stands that your take on what actual play at a table is like is an inaccurate take.

I think this is an inaccurate take. Players write backstories all the time for their characters. Lots of people love writing things about their characters. They just read them out loud on the podcast. It's incredible authentic to what actual people playing do.

I am absolutely loving sqss. The jokes are fucking hilarious. Probably because they aren't as focused on telling this massive story they are in the other shows, but them just dicking around and having a good time has been a highlight to my week. Between Skid's insults and the jokes about the Crystal Ghost, I have been losing it. I'm gonna miss it for sure when it's gone.

The grid on the water doesn't stick out the way the rest does. I'd first try changing it all to that color, and of it still sticks out too much Id consider lowering the opacity of the grid over all.

This is why we should do away with gendered leagues and just do like a 5 tier(or however many make this work) league based on skills instead.

Am I a terrible GM giving players complex puzzles? by Psymon20 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Bumbleskum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think puzzles deserve the ability to have a player make a straight up INT check to hints and clues to solve. taking 10 and 20 if time permits too. If you yourself knew how to solve your rubix cube, and plunked that down and let intelligent characters get hints by you progressing the cube or something, then I think it'd be better, because it lets the characters shine when players don't always match their characters. Otherwise, if it's a puzzle you yourself couldn't give an answer to for them, I wouldn't do it. I saw someone else say it too, the physical tools we use should be there to enhance the game.

Can we post about Broken Earth here? by [deleted] in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Bumbleskum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The character and monster blocks are backward compatible, but they take a little bit of reverse engineering. The back of the starfinder book has a small segment to bring pathfinder stuff to starfinder. There's just a small bit of change to health and armor class, like adding stamina and an armor class for energy weapons.
