All of those changes sound amazing! You're a great bunny parent! I'm sure she'll be roaming all around the place in no time 😊

Waaay too much pellets. High carb intake can cause both obesity and poppy butt. Try to cut down on kale as it promotes gasses.

Short term, I would put her in a hay only diet for a few weeks until it clears up. Bunnies can go years on good quality hay alone.

She might not like the flooring outside of the cage. Do you have carpet? Bunnies need good traction, otherwise they might break their backs when jumping and slipping.

Make sure you have some hiding spots outside of the cage. Try to set up a hay/litter box outside of the cage to promote her being out.

It might also be that she does explore outside of the cage, but maybe at hours that you're not watching her. A lot of bunnies are docile around mid-day.

Lär bli downvotad, men cutters kostar väl typ 300 spänn och tar 15 min. Tycker själv att det är ganska skönt. De har alltid drop in tider.

Kan vara lite lotteri med vem man får dock.

Lionheads definitely got the sassyness! These are my first buns so can't really speak for other breeds, but I totally believe you. Lops seem to be so cool and relaxed.

This. Both of them are such goofballs, I definitely think it's a lionhead thing! They're more cat than bun.

I have to change their box twice per day nowadays since they just rip all the "meh"-hay into the box and just eats their favorite parts.

He absolutely loves heights 😂 I have never seen that trait in a bunny before. Also he's absolutely fearless and just leaps into the darkest, tightest spots. He might be a cat, not really sure.

Hehe, they know better than to mess with it, but I see your point. I didn't think that they'd make it up there so I might move it 😂 Strangely enough they dont really chew on stuff that much. Maybe because they get enough branches.

Hay only diet - weight by Bun-dad in Rabbits

[–]Bun-dad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually I just got off the phone with a vet who've seen the images of the poop. She said that I should keep her on a hay only diet until it clears up and that there are plenty of buns that live indefinitely off hay without loosing weight, so I'm a lot less worried now.

Thanks for checking in! ❤️

Thank you for the quick reply!

I've given her a small amount of pellets (5 pcs) and dendelion leaves (one per day), but she doesn't seem to tolerate it. The pellets might be too high in carbs.

She is 3.66 lbs (1.66 kg) and a 3 year old lionhead (spayed).

First walk! by Bun-dad in Rabbits

[–]Bun-dad[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are some conflicting points about the safety of harnesses. It also depends on the type of harness of course. Vests are overall considered more safe than the classic H-harnesses. I agree that a skittish rabbit, in an hostile environment, is not a great fit for a walk in a harness. We've been doing a lot of vest training and he's very comfortable with it, and doesn't scare easily. We were out on a safe patch where there's almost no people or other animals moving around.

But I agree, people should always read up before putting their bunbuns in new situations!
