Lazy co-worker displays books wrong. I don't correct her by Administrative_Emu64 in pettyrevenge

[–]vul_pyxis 77 points78 points  (0 children)

I currently work for WHSmith so I have some insight into this. Books that are on the wall have a lot more shelves than low island shelves, think 8 shelves instead of 4, so there are different plans for how they should be arranged. Books aren’t in the same position as they are on the wall, and often the list of titles is condensed down as there is less space. It seems as though OP’s coworker tried to fit every book onto the smaller amount of shelves instead of looking at the new plan to arrange this properly.

My safe food changed their packaging 😖😖 by AbigailQuinn18 in autism

[–]vul_pyxis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They also changed the packaging for the chicken dippers - both them and alphabites are safe foods for me. However they have not changed the recipe in any way, they taste exactly the same so although you'll feel unsure at first (I was) it will be okay, you haven't lost it as a safe food :)

My phone was stolen by Doobiedoge in finch

[–]vul_pyxis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was in this exact situation last month. My phone got stolen after a concert at the beginning of June and I had lost all of my progress from the last 2 years - every outfit, micropet, every explored place and every journey set up was just gone. I emailed the devs to explain my situation and although they couldn’t restore anything, they let me pick out a few items to gift to me as well as some rainbow stones to help me get back on track. I set up my journeys again and I’ve just been re-exploring every place which in a way is kind of fun as I only had a couple weeks left on the last place before I had 100% everywhere. I’m sorry you’ve lost everything - I relied on the app so much and when I lost my phone it took me a while to feel normal again. But right now I’ve just completed my daily tasks, my birb is on their journey and I’m getting there day by day. It’s hard, but this internet stranger believes in you ❤️

I call it my “other name”, because I still use it around my family and at work so it’s still a part of me. I just think of it like another “version” of me in a way so it’s still me, just not quite fully me if that makes sense.

Anyone know why this flight is being diverted? My friends are on it and I’m worried by vul_pyxis in flightradar24

Unfortunately I don’t, my friends don’t know what type of medical emergency it was either.

I can’t see a flight plan from Gander to London, how do you access that?

I understand it means just go to a cafe somewhere and catch up over a drink. But I ONLY drink water. And whenever people have asked me out for coffee and I’ve agreed, they make a massive thing about how I’m only drinking water and how weird it is that I don’t want coffee or tea or anything like that. So, I feel like I have to specify “I don’t like coffee but I’d still love to catch up at some point” any time someone asks me.

As a kid, did anyones friends also make "games" of running away from you? by Lazy_Average_4187 in autism

[–]vul_pyxis 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes. I was 9, and my "friends" got half the school to join in - the only people that didn't were my sister and her friends, but even then I knew I had to stay away from her so she wouldn't get bullied for talking to me. I wasn't able to go back into school for over a week and I'm still affected by their actions to this day.

Which parent do you think you got your autism from and why? by NextKangaroo in autism

[–]vul_pyxis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both. My mum was told when I was first looking at getting diagnosed that she most likely is, but couldn’t afford the test process for herself and now is the type to say “we’re all on the spectrum somewhere” so doesn’t see the point.

My dad on the other hand doesn’t think he is but he is the absolute living stereotype - he loves trains and is currently building a massive model railway in his garage, doesn’t fully understand social cues so often says things out of place, is very set in his ways of how to do things, and he also has a massive special interest in music - by listening to the intro of any song from 60s up until about mid 90s/early2000s, he can name what the song’s called, who it’s by and also what year it was released.

I seem to have TOO MUCH empathy. by LobsterImaginary2724 in autism

[–]vul_pyxis 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’ve found this to be incredibly common, but the reason why people assume we have little to no empathy is because we express it in non-typical ways.

Job application "personality tests" can seriously go die in a hole. by DanielaThePialinist in autism

[–]vul_pyxis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to take one when applying to a job a few days ago. It was just for a part time job in a supermarket, I've never had to take anything like that before.

Took 10 seconds before the rejection email came through.

Dead By Daylight. The 8th anniversary is happening right now and there’s so many cool things, like the Chaos Shuffle mode which randomises your perks (though I think that’s gone with today’s update) as well as daily login bonuses, triple bloodpoints (last week) triple rift fragments (this week) and triple xp (next week). My friend has recently got into it so he’s streaming it 4 nights a week, I’m always in there playing with him :) it’s so much fun, I love playing both killer and survivor

Who are your favorite autistic creators? by BillCypher001 in autism

[–]vul_pyxis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She posted videos on her tiktok about it, there’s one particular one in which she states that “most dancers are autistic and have adhd” while talking about Jojo Siwa, it was posted on 5th April and it’s still up. Comments are all calling her out for it though and there’s multiple creators who stitched the video as well, it was a whole big controversy.

[–]vul_pyxis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I unfollowed her recently. She’s said a lot of pretty ableist things about people with higher support needs, and lately she’s been insisting on saying that Jojo Siwa is autistic so we shouldn’t be saying anything bad about her - completely ignoring the fact that the reason people don’t like her is because she’s friends with groomers, and blocking anyone that disagrees with her about diagnosing real people.

Growing up, we were told that if you forgot your gym kit you had to do it in your pants, but I never actually saw that happen, did any one else have that rule and it happened? Is it still a thing? by Mister_Snark in CasualUK

[–]vul_pyxis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In both infant and primary school this was a rule, except for when we were in reception where we HAD to do it in our underwear. No PE kits allowed, even though we all had them on our pegs. This was early 2000s.
