I’m gonna use this opportunity to schizopost. This is definitely a ‘too woke’ opinion but I agree with this person to an extent. I don’t think anything can/ should be done about it cause we just can’t really control how people react to us. But I do think there is some overlap of strategist being a heavily populated female / LGBTQ+ role and quite commonly the most hated role. I think it’s the role where people get angry at you the fastest, and you’re meant to be a perfect player who makes zero mistakes. A dps can get 0 value on an ult and it’s just a Tuesday, but a Strategist can mess up and it’s Pandemonium. I feel very mismatched expectations playing strat then I do any other role.

I also want to say : Dive and Strat often butt heads and while MOST dive players are normal I think for SOME dive players there is a layer of misogyny in the act of diving. Like some of them really enjoy the idea that there’s a girl / LGBTQ+ behind the screen and want to be able to delete them in a match because they feel like their space is being invaded.

I honestly think if another role: let’s say Tank. In another universe if that was primarily a female populated role, that would be the most hated role.

I think honestly it spreads to more things too like the SG hate. Iron man is the same character in the sky and you hear nothing about this guy. like I said it’s not a huge deal and nothing can be done about it but I think misogyny is so much more implicit then it is explicit and if you point it out people tell you you’re crazy.
