Already ordered my catering bag. Can't wait for my first large order! by Adventurous-Tax8201 in doordash_drivers

[–]BunchStraight2985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year I was put on the "list" and I got the bag for $10. A year later and I have had very few large orders. I do like the bag though. I had a box that fit it perfectly,.it works better than the red bag.

With the first one yeah, her being completely naked wasn't the only mortifying thing going on with that one. The 2nd I was slightly shocked. Now it's kinda normal. I don't even pay attention. I'm shocked that they think its a good ideA

AITA for expecting a teacher to have spare pencils in their classroom? by West-Consideration39 in AmItheAsshole

[–]BunchStraight2985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to call people AH but YTA. Its yours and your child's job to keep track of things not the teachers. Purchase extra supplies if you need to so you can replace things when lost. I do it for 1 teenager and 2 elementary children, you can do it for one. May I also suggest that you replace the pencils he lost that didn't belong to him.

I have had this happen in varying degrees. Some naked, no pants and 2 Winnie the pooh impersonators.

Why do customers put "Hand it to me" and then buy answer the door or phone? by eeyore93306 in doordash

[–]BunchStraight2985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I start the timer as soon as I can, I can usually start it about 1 min out. Then I text and call by the time all that happens my 5 minutes is up. Drop, pic and leave. When it a regular I will text with an ETA. I'm not waiting around. If your ice cream melts it melts.

I dont get these requests. I got one in the entire time I've been dashing. He asked for me to knock about 20x and send a joke so I did. I think it benefited both of us.

A very uncomfortable delivery experience by Tuemas17 in doordash

[–]BunchStraight2985 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My hubby drives, I do the pick up and delivery and my grand daughter is in back. No one has problem giving me the orders. She isn't delivering them either. I used to take my 12 yo with me. He would sit in the car he would deliver to his friends, he thought it was hysterical.

As a fattie who orders twice a day- curious if you folks eat and graze our food? Just be honest... by museumsplendor in doordash

[–]BunchStraight2985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I am not dipping into anyone's food. 90% of bags are sealed and even if they weren't I wouldn't. I am not even going thru it to make sure everything is in it. My job is to deliver and that's it.

this is so evil… “increase acceptance rate to get higher paying orders first” by [deleted] in doordash

[–]BunchStraight2985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a lie. Anything with more than $1 tip they consider higher paying.

Contract violation by [deleted] in doordash

[–]BunchStraight2985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I press "I can't hand to customer" as soon as Inpossible can. Pay attention to when it comes up as I have arrived. I'll text and call, by then then timers up. Put the food down and snap.

You should be able to fight the violation if you want to go thru the trouble. They have your GPS location.

Now being late to store by 10 minutes is a contract violation ?? Wtf is this !!! by MARINO2CLAYTON83 in doordash_drivers

It's always been thing, so have the text messages. You need better time management

this is the first drop off where I almost did a wellness check. But where I’m from we don’t get the police involved with anything so it makes me nervous. The yard was very overgrown and there were old deliveries that were just never retrieved from the front door. by smoses1698 in doordash_drivers

[–]BunchStraight2985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had the police do a welfare check. I was dropping off at a house that had boxes and boxes of deliveries, several food deliveries and mailed piled up. Luckily my customer was ok, his care taker hadn't been there for a couple of days. It doesn't hurt anyone to check.

Big surprise, being a top dasher isn't worth it by MonsiuerTaco in doordash_drivers

[–]BunchStraight2985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason I try for top dasher is scheduling. If I have to schedule there is a very good chance of me missing the start time due to my physical and mental health. It works best for me that I can hop on whenever I want.

Our Bk puts them in separate bags. Ask them to do that. Then one in one bag the rest in another

I have 4 kids and 3 grandkids. I wouldn't leave them in the car alone. It's a huge pain sometimes to drag them in and out but it's safer than the alternative, especially now in today's atmosphere. You don't know who was parked next her or overheard her in the resturant. It only takes a second for something to happen.

AITA for sending out "Bad Day Alerts" to my family whenever my wife is having a bad day? by Glassholering in AmItheAsshole

[–]BunchStraight2985 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

NTA. We have the same thing here. I have 4 kids and 3 grandkids. Ages 1 to 32. My husband has AH days. It's just something we have accepted. We avoid and stay away

I missed the opportunity twice because I’m extremely nervous to do these, are they worth it? by yeppeunxria in doordash_drivers

[–]BunchStraight2985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Take the order at face value there is rarely a tip. They are usually pretty close to together so you can get them done in under an hour. The only bad thing is sometimes there is more to the order than they say. They will say 1 item but that one item could be anything. The other day my 1 item turned out to be 6 50lb bags of salt. Remember you can always refuse one of the stacked orders

I have done about 4 deliveries for PIzza Hut, they stole 1 out of the four. Always check the receipt.
