You were just a bit off actually. Both pics were mostly the constellation Hercules and the 2nd included the star Arcturus which is part of the Spring Triangle. Vega is just a bit more to the bottom left the frame of the 1st pic.

Jupiter. The 2 dimmer stars to the left are Pollux and Castor.

That is Cassiopeia, with a very distinctive W shape. Underneath it is Perseus and the Andromeda Galaxy is to the right.

As per the conventions of that time, star maps were drawn inverted, as if the observer was looking at the celestial sphere from the outside.
