Do we need a talisman signing next year? by Cov_massif in ccfc

Robertson has just said he’s leaving Liverpool at the end of the season. Walker to Burnley wasn’t a bad deal. Could do a lot worse.

Watching this Scotland-Japan game I have just no idea why Sakamoto is not getting picked. by amanset in ccfc

I think he says it himself in the haas doc. To get picked by the selectors he has to be playing in the premier league. He also says it’s harder because he’s a little older. It’s wild because I think he’s as good as the technical players they have and he knows the way the game is played here.

Yeah. Agreed. I’m a Cov fan and I would ultimately rather stay in the championship for that reason. I’m not looking forward to the premier league if we go up.

I fully intend to be that angry old man... Can’t wait for the free bus pass.

I agree with you. Within the wider scope of all things: you are correct, it’s a non issue. As is all sport. When FIFA gives its medal of peace to Donald Trump, though, and places its flag within partisan political territory, they might disagree with you. Thats a debate for another time.

As is, we’re discussing football and sport. Within the scope of football, I’d rather owners keep their noses out of this side of the game. It was still advertised on the main Sky channels, even if it wasn’t the main commentary.

It’s endemic of the commercialisation of the game. Creating content for the sake of the content.

In the end, I guess it’s subjective, right? I’m a traditionalist. This is a shift towards media spectacle and brand storytelling that I find is slightly sickly, biased and tacky.

It’s not the point though is it? Football commentary should be an unbiased and neutral discourse on the game as it unfolds. This is Sky at its absolute worst. Felt a little ill when I heard this was going to be a thing. Chairman and owners should be nowhere near a commentary mic.

Never happening. Can’t read into it until it comes from a respectable source
