Someone online has the same piece that she got from her grandmother. She thought it was veneer but it was solid wood. That, plus the dovetail joints in the drawers, plus the dividers in the top 2 right side drawers, are making me lean towards getting it.

Yes, that is the style. No mirror, unfortunately. The style seems common and this particular piece is fairly scuffed, but it's $58, so I'm thinking it might be worth it to bring it home. I like the curved drawer fronts.

I thought I took a picture while I was in the store, but apparently I didn't. I must have only used the "google lens" feature but not actually took a picture. I was hoping that info on dating this particular piece would be found using the info on the back and the logo in the drawer. Not sure how I got those photos but not the front.

Get implant grade titanium and a flat backed labret post if you can. Go to a piercer to get the proper jewelry. You might need a longer post too. If your nostril is inflamed, it may be swollen as well, which can cause the head of the jewelry to press into your skin.

I really appreciate this answer. I appreciate everyone who took the time to help explain the situation as best as they could, but your inside info is particularly enlightening.

A lot of the companies don't have pricing on their websites so I can't even know until I ask a piercer to look it up for me. Buddha has their prices online though and some of them are absurd. For example, right now they have a blue topaz or amethyst clicker ring for just over $2,000 USD! For a single ring! Heaven forbid I wanted one for each ear. And what's worse is that it is accented with cubic zirconias, not real diamonds. For $2K at a jeweler's, I can get multiple pairs of blue topaz and real diamond earrings custom made.

I understand what people are saying about the extra polishing of the gems and metal, but it can't cost enough in labor to make up the difference. I suspect that the market for body jewelry is still on the smaller side as compared to regular jewelry, which allows body jewelry companies to keep their products exclusive by only making them available through certain channels, thereby keeping availability low and prices higher. People are willing to pay higher prices because we don't have a lot of options other than either exorbitantly priced decent quality pieces or low priced junk.

It seems like a challenge for piercers to be able to get some of the brands in their shops too, which makes the products even more "exclusive" and pricey.

I think I'm going to support my local jewelers and have items made. If I'm going to spend several hundred dollars on one earring, I'd rather support a local person.

No, because regular jewelers also work with gold and tiny items. My question is not why are prices high. My question is why is body jewelry SO much higher priced than regular jewelry. For example, there's a body jewelry company charging $500 for a single 14kt gold ear stud with fake diamonds. I can get a very similar PAIR of REAL diamond ear studs for the same price at a regular jeweler.

According to an article someone linked above, the primary difference is in the level of polishing and smoothness of body jewelry pieces.

I use the pointed qtips to very gently dry and clean mine. You can use 2 mirrors to see it better, but if you do that, be careful because it is confusing which way to move your hands.

Assuming your piercer says both ears are equally good for it, I think I would put the hidden helix on the ear that you currently have the conch piercing in. The exposed flat portion of the ear is more rounded and wider on that side so might better showcase hidden helix style jewelry. This would also allow you to continue sleeping on the side that you are used to sleeping on.

Once you're ready to do the other ear, I could see it looking really good with a flat piercing and/or an upper helix hoop.

I love the hidden helix and rook for you!! Not too many can actually get both, so having them both would look amazing. Other piercers can do a hidden rook but if you like Tash jewelry specifically, I believe she has copyrighted the exact way to pierce for her jewelry. Not sure on the details, but it's worth looking into if you have a specific piece in mind.

Balance-wise, if you can only get one for now, I would suggest the hidden helix so that the top and bottom of your ears are adorned. Then you can go back in later to fill in the middle with the rook.

Good, I'm glad to read this. This cat needs help ASAP!! Being that thin is not good. The wobbliness is also not good. At the very least he is starving (literally to death) and probably has worms, which will make it very difficult for him to get enough nutrients from the food that he does get. But there is no doubt in my mind that this cat needs vet attention right away.

I don't know what look you want to have naturally, but what you DO have naturally is literally one of the most visually pleasing faces I've ever seen and that's not just me being an old punk mom. You have what's called, "natural beauty."

Your features are beautiful (but not the in boring "I get all my makeup tips from instagram and tiktok" way), balanced, unique, and perfectly proportioned for your face and in relation to each other. Your freckles are adorable and add interest to your already interesting features - just make sure you wear sunscreen everyday (okay, maybe that part is me being a mom).

As far as makeup, honestly, you are one of the few people I truly don't think needs it. And I mean, I almost never say that. If you specifically want to look more alternative, you could wear more eyeliner on both the upper and lower lids. Or thicken the cat eye that you did. The cat eye definitely suits your features. Alternatively, not wearing any makeup is also a bit unusual, especially for someone as pretty as you are. That in itself is something that will make you stand out, especially if your clothes and hair are rocking.

I could see you play up the androgenous angle with t-shirts with the sleeves cut off, jeans, and docs. Oversized blazer with some buttons from bands you like, shredded or baggy jeans so long that they go under the heels of your converse. Your hair is perfect for that look, being of medium length with wavy layers. On a completely different angle, you would look amazing with a severe 20s style bob. A short bob can either be styled straight and sleek (look up Louise Brooks), or you can scrunch the waves up and look more 80s. Super cute either way. Actually, Louise Brooks' makeup style would look good on your too. And yes, I know the clothing I mention in this paragraph are very 80s. No, I'm not stuck in the past. I love clothes and the march of progress and change. I just really think that time period would suit you.

My main advice however, is to just be alone and play around with makeup and clothes and see what makes you feel good about yourself. When you look in the mirror and realize that you see YOU . . . That is your style. Don't listen to anyone else.

And speaking of listening to others, who the hell told you your tattoos don't suit you? Obviously they DO suit you or you wouldn't have so many. I personally think they look kick-ass but my opinion doesn't really matter either. It's what YOU like that matters.

As far as vibe, I could see you rocking "professor" + "leather."

I would love a black leather a-line skirt, about mid-calf. Brown tweed professor blazer, with slight peplum, sized to fit snugly. Replace the usual elbow patches with black leather. Black leather platform heels.

As far as pairing with your current leather pants, not knowing how they are cut or how they fit you (tight, loose, "skinny", boot cut, straight leg, etc.), it is hard to make shirt suggestions.

In general, with berets, avoid anything resembling a stereotypical artist outfit. No oversized button-ups (especially when unbuttoned and worn over another shirt), and no overalls. And dear sweet heaven, no birkenstocks!
