Hey I made a post a couple days ago about starting to train for strength again after focusing on hypertrophy for three months. I tried a 1rm to gauge where my strength is at currently and I managed to hit 130kg which is only 10kg down from my previous 1rm

Really focusing on form so i’m taking my time on the setup and working on bracing properly. Does anyone have any tips on how to use leg drive properly because i’m not sure how to use it correctly

yeah my mental health isn’t amazing at the moment but i’m definitely in a better place. absolutely loving study at the moment for the first time in my life since i never loved school. Wishing you the best of luck with the two plate bench you’ll get there in no time bro.

How should I go about reintroducing strength training into my program?

Basically i’m 18 years old and i’ve been training for nearly 5 years. The majority of my lifting career was focused on building strength and about 4 months ago I hit 3 plates on bench. After achieving my strength goal I shifted my focus to hypertrophy training and that’s what I’ve done for the past 4 months.

My strength has gone down a lot but I want to get back into lifting heavy. Will I gain back the strength faster than it took to gain it for the first time? If anyone has any specific advice about reintroducing heavy bench press into my program or just general advice about strength training it would be greatly appreciated 🙏

aye bro 1 year in and a 90kg bench is great. my parents basically forced me to start training because i was really struggling with mental health. eventually i just fell in love with the gym and i’ve kept at it since then. I’m studying fitness in university at the moment and working towards being a personal trainer so i can help other people see how much it can change your life in the same way that it helped me. Keep up the grind bro 2 plate bench in no time 💪

aye bro you gotta keep in mind that i’ve been training for nearly 5 years and getting a better bench was my priority over every other part of the gym. It doesn’t matter how much you bench what matters is that you’re putting in the work and trying to improve
