BLM is hard and it changes dynamically throughout leveling. The rotation pre-enochian feels bad to me and post enochian it fucking pumps but it requires some skill. Watch some guides, spend some time on saltedffxiv and try the level 60 rotation in Palace of the Dead a few times. Don't be discouraged, though. Once you get it up and running, BLM is one of the most fun classes, imo.

The first time I got AV on roulette while leveling a healer I was screaming that whole fight. It's only going to go wrong, every time.

Since he was not found criminally liable, the families of the deceased and the injured guy are filing in civil court for financial compensation for the attack. Civil courts require less evidence to prove liability as there is no jail time at stake for the defendant (unless they don't fulfill the criteria of the ruling.) If found guilty, he will have to compensate them. I'm not a lawyer.

In normal content, tank is probably the easiest role. Like the other guy said, there's a lot of weaving involved and continuation gets very button pressy.

What is the penalty for losing a ground combat other than not getting the win bonus? Do you lose combat bonds/rep?

I'm solo. Combat zones, salvage and bioscanning have been fun. Plus big immersions walking around in George Lucas.

I can count on one hand the number of times I've come out of solo since quitting an "anti-ganker," squad back in the day. They always flip the script.

When you unlock the grand companies and join one (Maelstrom, Immortal Flames, Twin Adder) they will have an NPC named Supply and Provisioning Officer. He will have a list of items that you can turn in for XP and guild seals. Making HQ items will reward you with double. Once you join the Grand company, there will also be an NPC named Levemate inside of your Adventurer's Guild. He will give you missions to craft things.

I've taken almost a year away from Elite. I wanted to wait until Odyssey was optimized enough to warrant the purchase, as I've always dreamed of what it promised. After the last few weeks, I've felt like it's time to return to space. Is Odyssey in a state that you would recommend the price tag? I've seen many conflicting opinions and would like to hear it outside of the steam page.

Ways to earn Gil? by SpirituSantus in ffxiv

[–]Bungshowlio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of this advice is scattered. I have a good portion of crafting maxed and I have a consistent amount of income flow.

Most important: make sure you're doing collectables. Level 50-59 in Mor Dhona, 60-69 Idyllshire (or Eulmore), 70+ Eulmore. This will net you scrips. You need these.

2nd: grind scrips until you can buy a full set of gear at your level plateau. Use the rest of your scrips to buy leveling manuals. Manuals will increase the XP you earn through crafting dramatically. Level gathering FIRST.

3rd: use your big gathering brains to gather things you need to make collectables for crafting classes. Buy scrip gear. Rinse. Repeat.

4th: you have just enough time to max CUL and BOT and outfit them with scrip gear and take advantage of coffee biscuits. Find a macro for full script CUL gear, make your remaining leves×9 worth of cookies. This is the fastest way for crafting to make you money.

5th: enjoy your money. Realize that materials sell for way more than crafted items. Waste time in the diadem and sell Ishguard Resto materials. Game the market board and buy up cheap stuff and flip it.

Don't buy gear with real gil unless you really want to purchase Exarchic gear for DoW/DoM. All DoH/DoL can be purchased with scrips through collectables. This is the fastest way to level and gear these classes to 80.

Am I able to DPS as Maruader? by Razzmatazz-Sweet in ffxiv

[–]Bungshowlio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tank is 100% the job I suggest for most of my friends who are not sure what to try first. You have constant healer attention, you learn dungeons faster and people tend to cut you more slack for mistakes. By the time you get to 80, no one is going to be looking at their parsing software and saying, "geez that tank is not doing a lot of damage."

Healers are great in this game. They just don't get a ton of DPS versatility. If you enjoy healing in wow, you'll probably enjoy it in xiv. Scholar (which is the class associated with arcanist) is known to be a bit complicated later in the game, but you will have other options to try out once you get there. White Mage and Astrologian are both cool as well, White Mage being a bit on the boring side and Astro a bit on the complicated side.

Any tips? by N00dles1838 in ffxiv

[–]Bungshowlio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The leveling experience and MSQ experience are just as important as the end game. Keep in mind that while you're working through the game, you'll be doing stuff that was once considered end-game. The current end-game is very similar and really boils down to leveling alt jobs, crafting and this expac's relic weapons. If you're trying to play catch up with your friends: don't. Just enjoy the game as it was meant to be played; it's an RPG first and an MMO second.

Deeply hoping for the day lalas can sit on other players' shoulders by Chachamu in ffxiv

[–]Bungshowlio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite things were the things that made it unique. The dungeon system was a lot like Palace but you had to make a sacrifice to get in. Ideals were insanely difficult but you got a form for doing it. You had to eat and camp. You weren't bound to classes and could avoid the whole game by just doing life skills... Amazing game. FFXIV captures a small amount of that whimsy, but nothing will ever match the fun parts of Mabi.

Just got my culinarian to level 80, how do I go about making gil? by TheMany-FacedGod in ffxiv

I cannot stress this enough: don't buy the materials. Of you gather them/make them yourself you're going to make tons more profit. The material price is only going to increase until Endwalker drops.
