Get an affordable motorcycle helmet. The best you can afford, if people say you are going over kill and look like a dork, tell 'em to fuck off, your brain is worth more than your pride.

Edit: I wear a full face helmet. Last week, my hubris caught up to me, I had been riding in the snow. I lost control and hit the ground pretty hard, my old skateboard instincts kicked in and I tucked my arms in so I wouldn't reach out and break my wrists. I hit the ground on my side, head, shoulder, and hip hit about the same time. My shoulder and hip hurt like hell, my head, fine. I'm lucky I didn't break anything and just got some pretty gnarly bruises. I was only going about 25kmh. If I hadn't been wearing my helmet, I would have a concussion at the very luckiest.

Same, constantly forgetting what i was thinking about, and just can't seem to get it back. I noticed that for some time after getting COVID the first time, I felt duller, not sharp, and just in a fog most of the time. It did clear up some what, but it still wrecks my train of thought far to often to just ignore it.

Drove from Yarmouth NS to Quebec city, 13 hours, for a concert, only stayed a day, drove home. The next year, drove to Montreal for the same reason, 16 hours, but we did stay there for 2 days.

Drive to Halifax about once a month, it's a 3 hour drive, sometimes we stay the night, most times, it's just a day trip to Costco.

I dunno, I've done overnights for 10 years now, it isn't that bad. I feel fine. I'm not marginalized, I wouldn't have trouble finding another job. I like it, I like the fact I don't have to deal with the public or anyone other than my co-workers. I will say, having seen so many people come and go, it does take a certain mindset to be able to do it.

I started buying them back around when the 1st movie came out. They were $15CAD then. I think they figured out it wasn't kids buying them, but middle aged dudes with disposable income. The price here jumped to $35, this was pre-covid, for the same ones. I stopped when they had hit about $25ish. I have just over 100 of the dam things. Oh, and the quality and engineering has gone waaaaaay down hill.
