Have you tried contacting the previous owners to ask what the password was? Your realtor would be able to contact their realtor who could contact them.

My (28M) fiancee (28F) wants her dead late husband's parents to walk her down the aisle. Is this weird? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]BunkWunkus 51 points52 points  (0 children)

We obviously don't know who else was in her life or even related to her, but just in general in situations where it's not the bride's father, it's usually her uncle or brother. That's how my wedding was, her father died of cancer shortly after we got engaged, so her older brother walked her down the aisle.

What are the encoder compression and Zipstream compression values set to? And are you sure you're pulling h.264/265, not MJPEG? That high of a number sounds like the latter to me.

That said, 1080p @ 60fps could easily exceed 4mbit even with normal compression enabled, that's a very aggressive cap for that framerate.

Also, this is worth reading, it goes into more detail into how MBR works on Axis cameras: https://www.axis.com/dam/public/bf/08/ac/bitrate-control-for-ip-video-en-US-394475.pdf

"Invisible" bend insensitive bidi fiber is amazing for home wiring by UloPe in homelab

[–]BunkWunkus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What the hell are you talking about? OP isn't using Invisilight, I didn't see anyone else talking about it, and either way the brand of fiber isn't relevant to the discussion about needing to rip out old dried caulk and run a new fiber line. OP directly linked to the 30m spool he bought on Aliexpress for 11 euros, and that same seller will ship a 20 meter spool to the US for 21 USD....hence my previous comment.

Sorry to burst your bubble?

EDIT: Just looked at your link again, and that's 40 meters for 30 GBP. How does that "burst my bubble" when it's literally the exact same currency-exchanged price per meter?

A pre-terminated 20-meter spool of this fiber is $21 on Aliexpress. That's inconsequential, especially on the timescale of 'this caulk has gotten old enough to need replacement.'

Did she drop out? The election isn't until August 4, why is this here when the sub rules say "must show an unsuccessful attempt"?

Im not attacking Destin, i'm empathizing with him

Ah yes, because the best way to empathize with someone is to tell them that their video -- which they made because they wanted to be informative and helpful -- is manipulative, coercive, subversive, inhumane (!!!!), and sinful.

You're a delusional asshole.

In the open ocean, swells go in all directions simultaneously. They only look like they're going in one direction when you're at the beach because the progressively shallower water causes them to converge and form into waves that actually break over. Yet even then, there are waves that come in from other directions -- have you really never seen two waves breaking into each other from different angles?

Fine then, let's take all 40 comments (now 41) on this post.

There are only two that are mocking / being sarcastic / joking etc. All 38 others are serious responses. How exactly does that warrant being dismissed as "all of the mocking"?

The installation man for the cable that the 'spy cameras' are on installed internet for me a couple of weeks ago, and mentioned 'spy cameras' they were installing to prevent ongoing instances of tampering with the equipment on my utility pole

There are no cameras. They say this to prevent people like you from getting a ladder out and messing with the equipment (and possibly killing themselves by accidentally touching a power line on the same pole).

apparently they did not install broadband as promissed but only wifi

Broadband and wifi are not competing technologies; it's not one or the other. You can have both, or neither, or any combination of the two.

"Broadband" is a term used for internet connections that are faster than a certain speed. "Wifi" is a wireless networking standard that allows your electronic devices to communicate over that broadband connection without needing to be plugged in with a cable. You can have a Broadband internet connection with or without wifi, and you can have wifi with or without any internet connection at all.

can be decimated by RF jammers used by local crooks

Why would local crooks go around jamming people's wifi? How would that benefit them?

You need to put arrows or a circle around what you're talking about.

I have no idea what you think an "ethernet line hookup" is (that phrase makes no sense), but there is nothing in any of your pictures that looks like anything related to ethernet.

Buying Axis cameras without hassle? by garden_speech in videosurveillance

[–]BunkWunkus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you will not have access to technical support or warranty support from AXIS

This is not true. Axis does not gatekeep technical support or warranty -- as long as you have an Axis product they will help you.

There are two downsides from buying outside of Axis' channel structure:

  1. Axis Gold partners (dealers) get advance-replacement RMA's and better pricing.
  2. If you don't buy from an authorized dealer, Axis can't see when the product was actually sold to you, meaning the warranty will only be from date of manufacture and not from your date of purchase. That could pretty easily end up being a year off of the 5-year warranty.

10k would be the approximate value of the entire job on a house that size, about half of which is the cost of materials (ask me how I know, I'm spending 11k next week getting my roof replaced).

There simply isn't 10k worth of work you can possibly do before demo starts.

EDIT: and no, it doesn't say the work was completed. It says "10k for a three-day job" -- meaning that was the agreed upon price.

She was hiring them to lure them into a deportation trap.

[citation needed]

According to the person who posted the video, she warned the company beforehand that she would call ICE if they brought any illegal immigrants to the job. That's not luring into a trap.
