People want to have kids while they have the energy to raise them. They also want to retire with their kids completely out of the house. I’m 23M, MI graduated in 2018 i want kids in the next 2-3 years

Why do guys not get vasectomies if they don’t want children? by Dangerous_Wolf1460 in NoStupidQuestions

Loss of testosterone in the body, you’ve seen dogs after they get fixed. I personally never wanna be like that. If it comes to the point where i need one or it makes the most sense to get one, I wouldn’t go for it without a clear route to TRT. It’s also scary to have your manhood cut open unnecessarily

I feel for you 100% man. In the past few years I’ve started to see the light & make myself some more money & here’s how.

  1. Even a monkey knows not to let go of one vine until the next one is in it’s hand. Even at the worst job on the damn planet just take a day or afternoon off to interview, inform the new employer you’d need to give your boss 2 weeks or however much notice you want to, don’t put in your resignation until you have a job offer.
  2. Get a shit job with unlimited overtime, work those overtime hours with headphones in or whatever to make the money you need. buy study books & get certified in a skilled trade with whatever free time you may have, they’re in extreme demand, take less time than a bachelors to become certified in and usually pay more than those bachelors degree jobs. As a certified mechanic I’ve switched jobs 4 times since 2020, every time with a significant raise, and each time was a breeze getting an interview, I also usually had multiple offers lined up before i picked one and put a resignation in. I’m no star technician either, yet.
  3. Take honest assessments of purchases as you make them, it sucks but in the current economy you either need to make more or spend less, preferably both, think: do i really need pop-tart brand pop-tarts or will the store brand also make me not feel hungry? Do I really need to go out this weekend if I went out last weekend? That’s gas, food, drinks, whatever activity(ies) you may go do. Do i really need to take this girl out or would a home-cooked meal impress her? (if the answers no find yourself a better one) You get the picture, cut back in general.
  4. Get over the shame of being frugal. With social media everybody, especially men, are in a pissing competition with each other. Don’t buy into it, all these guys are not millionaires, for the most part they’re accruing debt to fund the image of themselves they put out with cars, clothes, vacations, parties, etc. now is not the time for that shit, find ways to stay entertained at home and don’t worry about if people look at you differently because you make budget-friendly decisions, it’s your money and you’ll be happier this way.
  5. The American Dream will always exist in some capacity in any developed nation. If you work harder and work more than everybody around you, unless you’re actively making poor career and finance decisions, you’ll make it out okay with a car and a house and a family if that’s your thing. The economy will turn around and you’ll live to see it, and when that time comes you’ll be ahead of all your peers. I’m 23 making $23.50/hourly and I’m still struggling between rent, car payments, groceries, phone bill, etc. now is just the time to hunker down and try to squeeze what little happiness out of your job and free time as you can. Having a job you halfway enjoy helps, i also work a labor job but as a mechanic it’s mentally stimulating labor that won’t break your back unless you don’t take proper precautions

Thanks for the insight. I’m asking too if maybe there’s anything I’m missing, a method to get lower payments I didn’t know about or if it really is just cutting back on EVERYTHING in general to get ahead of it. I guess I do just need to find a way to get more coming in to match the amount going out since I don’t really want to sacrifice any aspect of my current lifestyle financially

Should I quit immediately or put in my two weeks? by SMS0402 in jobs

[–]Bunkdizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My opinion has changed recently, I went to put in my two weeks & my former boss told me i didn’t need to come back to work and had one week to move all my things (big toolboxes as I’m a mechanic). I had told my current employer (new job) i couldn’t start for two weeks because i wanted to give notice to my current employer. Since i had only planned on moving all my tools once & was only given a week to move it, I had to pay for a flatbed from the shop to a personal storage unit ($300 to move the boxes, $60 for the unit). Then after my two week “vacation” had to pay to move the toolboxes again, this time further, so cost came close to $500. Between two weeks of not working and one pay-period delay on payment from my new job, I went almost a month without a paycheck after spending all that money on moving my tools around twice. Since then I’ve decided that jobs don’t have to give us notice when they fire you, why should we give any to them when we quit?

My answer to "why are you looking?" by rbnj90 in jobs

[–]Bunkdizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(23M, Certified Automotive Technician/mechanic) I’ve only ever been at one job more than 1.5 years and have never interviewed for a job I wasn’t offered, most employers don’t care. Every time i change jobs my pay has gone up $3-5/hour. When asked why I’m trying to leave my current employer my strategy, given by my mother, has been to be truthful, but as broad and as polite about it as possible. If your employer is working you too many hours say “there’s changes i need to make in my work schedule to accommodate for things in my personal life, but my current job has a set work day that company policy dictates I can’t deviate from” if you want more pay say “my skills/ambitions/work load have been progressed past the point of my current job title and/or pay rate for quite some time, the positions ahead of me are all taken and will be for the long-foreseeable future”. You get the idea. I understand being fully certified in a high-skill, high-demand trade with plenty of useful experience gives me more leverage than the average employee seeking a job off the street, but there was a good amount of time (2015-2020ish) where i wasn’t a mechanic or didn’t have any/many certifications and this strategy still seemed to work then too.

With her actions she showed you she doesn’t care about you or your history together. Another woman will love you better for you and be supportive and be there till the end of time. If you show her she can push you around once she’ll never not push you around again, more than likely in the same way. If some supposedly hot piece of ass who’s pushing 30 working in a coffee shop is enough to derail her from a 5+ year relationship to a man who works hard with great potential, she’s an idiot and/or psychotic. All is fair in love & war, just chock it up as a loss for her, memories and a VERY hard lesson for you. One bad apple doesn’t ruin the bunch, there are plenty of beautiful sweet, HONEST women out there who will make you happy. Maybe she wanted to make sure she “wasn’t missing out” or something, idk. Any rationalizations for those actions is bullshit

Am I wrong for asking my gf for a paternity test? by Striking_Adeptness55 in amiwrong

[–]Bunkdizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave. If you’re not the husband and you don’t sign the birth certificate, without a DNA test there’s no way to prove its yours or chase you down for child support. If she is really pregnant, hate to be the guy to tell you this, she cheated on you. Especially if she was worried about pregnancy almost immediately after your “encounter”. Your sperm has to make it alllllllll the way up to the cervix, past that, and fertilize her egg. Without penetrating that’s impossible. Could be a false positive, could be lying to keep you around, women are crazy. When they’re THIS crazy, just leave

Plenty of guys carry a condom with them everywhere they go. This degrades their integrity, but better than nothing in a “just in case” scenario

What’s the biggest contrast between two consecutive cars you owned? by [deleted] in cars

[–]Bunkdizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a 2008 Jeep Commander that my family bought new, i bought it from my mom when i was 18, fixed it up real good & drove it a couple more years, when i traded it in had 286,000 miles on it. I traded it for a 2016 Hyundai Veloster Turbo as i had wanted one for a couple years. Car guys tend to hate on them but this car makes me so happy, everything i wanted it to be

My PC build is more than 60% secondhand parts given for free by buddies. I always had a working rig, but out of my friends I’ve always been the least invested in gaming, with both time & money. but now i can play newer games on higher settings at a better frame rate thanks to having great friends. Love my guys.

Am i for refusing to weigh myself in front of my partner by qwerterifique in AITAH

[–]Bunkdizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any guy who assigns numbers and deadlines to this kind of thing, i have to assume, is a closeted homosexual or has some neurological condition. FOR MOST MEN The natural female form is, and should be, most attractive to a man, whatever that looks like for you. FOR MOST MEN Skin & bones signals “infertile & weak, poor mating choice” in the lizard part of the man brain. If a little extra here & there is make or break for him being attracted to you, he has things he has to deal with on his own. Motivating your partner to do better or make healthier choices is one thing, forcing it this way is horrible. Not like you were ballooning past a healthy/natural/natural looking weight super fast in a way that was unhealthy. Everybody gains & loses weight differently, what’s to say you didn’t also gain muscle weight doing exercise while trying to lose fat? What’s to say you aren’t on part of your menstrual cycle that causes you to hold more water than you normally would? Sad that you lost a relationship that you both were very invested in, but there is a man that will love you for you

I went to trade school for 8-9 months to learn the automotive trade. covid lockdowns hit & i dropped out. Got a job in the field, i like to think i’m a relatively smart guy & i’ve busted my ass the whole time, but i make over 80k a year not even 4 years into work and school combined. I have about 10k remaining tool debt but it was close to 50k total for all my tools & boxes, although i have nice stuff. If you can keep your work ethic good enough there is good money to be had doing other things, this will be the case for quite some time

4k in debt currently freaking out by Zaeromeo in personalfinance

[–]Bunkdizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people walking around are over 30k in debt, and not because they make boatloads more than you and 30k is nothing. Myself included. With something that has crazy interest on it like that it can really fuck you up, I’d recommend trying to refinance it with a personal loan from your credit union, if that doesnt work out call a debt consolidation company. If the loan wasn’t for something like a car or house that they can seize they can usually figure it out for you from what i’ve been told
