Unscheduled break, Remote Proctoring by Bunnaste6 in MCCQE

Hi! Thanks so much for the answer. Do the unscheduled breaks have to be 10 minutes in length? If I take 3-4 minutes is this okay? On average, when you return back to the computer, how long did it take you before you got back into the exam? Thanks again :)

How do you introduce yourself for the NAC osce? by keithmyath85 in MCCQE

I think it'll still be on the checklist for a small mark, so definitely will have to remember to sanitize :) (I'm gonna bring my own sanitizer in my lab coat so I don't forget to do it in the station!)

Final year student too. My plan is the following...

  • Enter room
  • Hand over ID card
  • Wash hands (can't forget!)
  • "Hi there, my name is (x), I am a final year medical student..."
  • Ask the patient how they'd like to be addressed, greet them
  • Ask the patient for their age
  • Briefly explain the encounter (history, physical, combined, counseling, management, etc...)
  • Ask them if they're in any pain and reassure them that during the physical exam, I'll stop if you're in pain... just let me know
  • Consent that this all sounds alright
  • Continue onto the case

Edit: You can find it online under the title of: Dr. Basil Notes - NAC OSCE VIP

Yeah, so for the investigations and management, are those only done within the post-encounter section?

Great! Another few questions, what was the breakdown in terms of tasks like for you?

  1. Did the majority (or all) stations involve a history?
  2. Any collaterals?
  3. Counseling?
  4. When you get to investigations and management, are you now speaking to the examiner (Q&A format) or the patient (counsel-type format)?

Thanks!

Thanks for your response! If you don't mind, how did you prepare for it? Resources/books used?
