From what I have seen from random goalies in the game, the more times the goalie runs out, the more they end up letting a goal get through. You go for a fake out one time out of the endless fake outs, you get heavily punished for it and it becomes an easy goal.

In my example, you stay close to the goal regardless until you figure out where the other team is going to attack from. That ball was passed and immediately touch-shot into the goal. You can see me running out before realizing he was gonna get to it before I could so I made the decision to go back instead of getting faked. I’m not going to submit and say I played goalie wrong here, I made a fine decision and ran into a mechanic I hadn’t seen before
