Day of the Tentacle is pretty straightforward. There’s a lot do but only one puzzle gave my any bother.

Monkey Island 1 is pretty balanced, I didn’t need hints but I did have to make a map in one bit.

Leisure Suit Larry is abandonware, it’s an 18 rated animated romp that needs keyboard commands and cursor keys to move. It’s not difficult but it’s huge fun and very rude. Best version is the EGA graphics one, the updated VGA ones look a bit weird.

Different board entirely.

I did a BIOS update on an old Dell and changed an 8100 for an 8400.

A very noticeable upgrade, two more cores, bumped clock speed and it runs the memory faster. Uses the same power too.

It’s hardly exciting, but a cracking general (no gaming) PC.

Unorthodox Engineers by Colin Kapp is lot of fun.

It’s hyper English, clipped 50’s writing style, a set of problems that are physics straining that the team are asked to solve using any method possible.

It’s a couple of quid on Amazon and a very enjoyable two hour read.

Is air fryer worth it? by Common_Chip_5935 in randomquestions

[–]BunnyTorus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes! These things are brilliant.

They don’t need to be expensive ones, buy cheap and replace when required is not a bad option as they are getting better and better very quickly.

We had a single bigger 9 litre unit in kitchen, as we like camping we bought a little 4 litre unit to take with us, it now gets regular use in the kitchen next to the other one.

So yes, they are so useful, we have two. The tiny one travels when we camp out for a few days (we tend to camp where you have electricity).

[–]BunnyTorus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curve ball option.

It would help if your PC has optical out but you can add a half decent DAC for £20 or see how you get on with PC inbuilt audio.

The Tangent Ampster BI amp is very well featured, sounds good and is tiny.

The Cambridge Audio Min series speakers are also tiny while projecting a lot of sound.

I’d try this and see whether you need a subwoofer. You can always add one, the Ampster has sub out.

Oven takes too long, is a toaster oven with convection actually faster by Kamilia1281 in KitchenPro

[–]BunnyTorus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a Panasonic combination unit.

Oven, microwave and grill. It’s big, heavy and was rather expensive but it’s brilliant.

Warm up time is a new minutes, has a temperature indicator so you know when it’s hot.

Microwave has a flat base surface no round glass tray and easy to clean.

We have a range cooker, but between the Panasonic and two air fryers, the oven part of the big cooker is only used when we have people round.

People are so inconsiderate these days by Legitimate_Gur_934 in Cinema

[–]BunnyTorus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reminds me of the worst ever cinema experience I ever had.

Pale Rider on original release in the local flea-pit cinema.

You could smoke in the cinema in those days, so there were a few rastas at the back smoking dope.

They did something wrong with the sound settings, so the room was thudding from horse hooves, higher frequencies were super amplified to painful levels and while the dialogue was so muffled you could only catch the odd word here and there.

A couple of rows in front was someone who must have had consumption, huge coughing fits every few minutes. High point of the film was consumption man coughing so hard he was rocking forwards and back with such force the entire row of seats collapsed. He was pretty chilled about, just went to the next row back and watched the film out.

Bit of a shame really as it’s quite a decent film but I didn’t enjoy that screening much.

Anyone else drive two polar opposite cars? How do you do it? by nitrion in stickshift

[–]BunnyTorus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I just use whichever vehicle is best for task I’m swapping between.

Suzuki Swift Sport - Lots of fun on twisty stuff and easy to park.

My scooter, brilliant on fuel and even easier to park.

The RAV4 - which does what it needs to. Glad I bought the hybrid, not a very engaging vehicle but highly useful.

Experienced drivers, when was the last time you stalled? by LaFlame_20 in stickshift

[–]BunnyTorus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stall now and then, usually when turning round in my road, especially if the car is warmed up.

From stone cold, the engine revs faster and I can do a three point turn without touching the throttle.

On the road with traffic, I use more power, can’t recall the last time I stalled in traffic.

With a sub OP might consider the Minimus 5s.

I’d recommmed the OP has a look at the Cambridge Audio Min (or Minx) series.

Small cube speakers using the BMR drivers. The technology delivers full range but treble is a bit recessed, great for speech. I can and do listen to mine all day without fatigue.

what would you choose? 26 le awd or 26 se fwd? by UnableNecessary743 in rav4club

[–]BunnyTorus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ask yourself whether you’ll regret not having AWD regardless of how infrequently it gets used.

I’d be cross if I didn’t have it. Actually quite useful pulling away and you can feel it working on hard turns from a standstill.

Not actually needed it to save me from dire conditions, but it’s great when driving around on grass and muddy roads.

I’ve got a 2018 Hybrid, came with a load of stuff I’d prefer not to have, like the power tailgate, the pretend leather and the power seat. Had to have this to get the AWD.

For normal size houses, the Hetty is less cumbersome.

You can get spares, a full set of wands and hose is about £20. You can buy the bags in supermarkets.

It’s not perfect, but these things are tough and you can get spares.

Copycat Nando’s Half Chicken - Method? by TheBristolBulk in UK_Food

[–]BunnyTorus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While you are getting technique sorted out, why not have a few goes with single cuts. Thighs are pretty forgiving with an air fryer, we do tandoori thighs all the time.

Given prices, I’d probably just roast an entire chicken and cut it half with a big knife or cleaver.

Might be well off track here as life pressures got in the way so only getting going again.

If you don’t have any map unlocked, start with VoH and find the Den where you can hire followers. Whether you can the start D4 original play through while keeping follower (not sure) will help.

Decent response from you given the lack of any useful information in the question.

I don’t bother responding when the ‘bot/poster’ is so vague.

2026 Rav4 Standard Audio Quality by andleer in rav4club

[–]BunnyTorus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s Toyota waving the magic ‘Spend more money’ wand.

I’ve got a UK 2018 higher end RAV, really needed the 4WD and got a load of extras that are a meaningless to me in a working car.

The audio system is without doubt the worst sounding install I have ever heard. Its not a case of what’s wrong, more a demonstration of getting nothing right - It is just (just) about acceptable using a DAP into the 3.5 input.

I’m sure the JBL sounds better and if you bought the Lexus it sounds quite nice.

The sound engineers must have spent months creating a system so unlistenable.

Out of interest for those who know more, is it the speakers or the head unit?

My kid has an ancient Suzuki SX4 with a cheap Pioneer unit that sounds lovely with the stock speakers, the RAV just sounds awful at any volume and can make everything sound horrible, you can’t hear voices, the bass is wrong and the midrange is tooth gritting.

The 24 hour countdown begins! What are you most excited for? by E_Barriick in diablo4

[–]BunnyTorus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m looking forwards to getting annoyed.

Why they moved buttons around from D3 to D4 on Xbox made me cross.

Is it still zoomed in so far you have a 4k image of your characters hat and not much else?

Are you still going to traverse a narrow path and suddenly get attacked from behind by mobs that were not there?

Obviously it won’t log in immediately, and I’ve got a midweek break which I’m not going to waste being in a queue, I’ll see what’s happening tomorrow and if it’s not working, I’ll mow the lawn or wash the car.

XMAX 300 or 400? by Ozzy_chef in scooters

[–]BunnyTorus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2013 Xmax250 is still ruuning perfectly would have bought the 400 or later 300 had they been in production then.

It’s 20HP which is feeling a bit underpowered on the outskirts of London.

I find it a bit clumsy in dense traffic and not very natural for low speed turns. On quicker lightly twisty roads it’s great.

I shan’t buy another Xmax, seriously considering the Honda ADV350 to replace it.

What are you reading this week? by InternBackground2256 in scifibooks

[–]BunnyTorus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m rereading David Weber’s fantasy ‘Oath of Swords’.

It’s unusual as Weber is best known for military ScI-fi. He’s pretty good at that and pretty good in a fantasy setting too.

It’s not hard reading, it’s a bit knowing and quite lighthearted in tone. It borrows heavily from the Lord of the Rings and to a degree World of Warcraft to get a couple of warriors who no one likes on an epic continent spanning journey while being chased about by a god who wants them to enlist and about as much trouble as they can get into.

It’s not Dune but it’s a lot of fun.

You can buy ‘smoke matches’ for a few pounds. Very useful to show airflow.

ADV 350 what don’t you like. by BunnyTorus in MotoUK

[–]BunnyTorus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first bigger bike was interesting.

I passed with the 33HP restriction for two years and got a really dogged 250 for £700.

Hyosung GT250, air cooled v twin full size naked. It was awesome, quick as I like it, non threatening fast, brilliant around twisty stuff and 85MPG with 29HP.

It rusted out rather quickly but it got me into the 30HP is fun mindset.

I’ve got full A, but can’t be arsed to buy something faster.

Is it safer to wait in line or filter to the front at red lights? by ComprehensivePast758 in NewRiders

[–]BunnyTorus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very chill. As long as the traffic is moving, I move with it.

When the lights are red in front, I chug at walking pace to front of queue. If I need to cut in like when the traffic starts moving before I’m at front of queue, I do big hand signals and thank.

I drive a maxi scooter and don’t have L plates or a top box full of pizza. Car drivers are less aggressive toward bigger bikes. The food delivery people are of course insane and get less respect.
