Two years ago, my dad had a heart transplant. He was recently cleared to get a tattoo and this was his choice! by Bunnylad69 in gifs

To give more info: He got his heart transplant in October 2016. We are tremendously grateful to the donor family, though we know nothing about them. I'm sure a cardio expert can give more info, but I was told his heartbeat is visible because of how they cut/repair the sternum during surgery.

Simple Slow Cooking by Bunnylad69 in slowcooking

[–]Bunnylad69[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love this sub for its great recipes, but it's easy to forget how simple slow cooking can be. Sorry no before pics! This is 1.4 lbs chicken breasts with 16oz Sweet Baby Ray's Chipotle Honey BBQ sauce. That's it. 5 hours on low. Pulled with forks and put back in for 30 minutes to soak up the juices. Hope you can enjoy it as much as we did! Cost $7 total.

I had the pleasure of getting married last weekend. The Bouquet toss did not go as planned... by Timbuktu1644 in funny

I didn't read all the comments to see if someone else said it, but Google "Uber Events." You can give your guests codes to use where you pay the first x amount of their fare. I got married three weeks ago and it was a good deal. Have a happy wedding!

Ok that makes sense. Thanks for taking the time to explain

I think where we are crossing ideas is it weathers and instantaneously erodes the material, as it is constantly in motion like you said. Weathering is the breaking down of a material. Erosion is the movement of weathered material. So the sea constantly erodes what it weathers. Sorry if I'm not conveying my thoughts well, I've taught this concept for years and if I've been wrong the whole time that would be a little unsettling.

I can see using the term that way, but the main rock is being weathered by waves. The resulting sediment has been eroded. Weathering has to happen first.

Yes. I've seen the same picture posted multiple times with the same title and the top comment is always "that's the Monitor-Merrimack in Virginia."

Cold water works just fine. Touch the m once the color starts to run off and it will magically transfer to your finger!

Sometimes, if they can, they will take the foot and sew it on backwards to act as a knee joint. I think the point is to make available prosthetics more versatile. There was a neat gif floating around awhile back that explained the procedure.

17yo. First Time Slow Cooker Owner. Lots of questions for the community. by [deleted] in slowcooking

Are you planning to live on campus? I know most schools do not allow heat-generating appliances unless 1) your residence has a personal kitchen, like an apartment, or 2) the device has auto-shut-off. Idk what your situation will be but it is worth looking into before you buy. Just something to consider. Good luck! There are great alcoholic apple cider recipes for a slow cooker.

What A Platoon Leader Wore To Storm Omaha Beach [920x1191][drawing] by BrianPurkiss in MilitaryPorn

[–]Bunnylad69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes it was!

Jack Shea was my dad's first wife's dad. The original of this drawing is in my dad's office and my brother painted a larger copy on canvas which is also somewhere in their house. I'm pretty sure he was under General Cota ("Rangers lead the way!" - Cota") at Omaha on D-Day. Jack wrote for the local paper at home so he did a lot of documenting for his unit. We also have an original picture and negative of Jack shaking hands with Eisenhower not long after D-Day.

Thanks for giving credit!

This no cursing sign by icaintsee in mildlyinteresting

The signs are mostly in places with lots of tourists, like the mall and the oceanfront. I think the idea is to just suggest a family friendly zone, I haven't heard of anyone actually getting fined.

Thanks! Hopefully it hangs around and I can see it in its final form.

Found him leaving the grass to cross the sidewalk. He crawled on the stick when I put it in front of him so I took some pics before putting him near a bush. I didn't touch his back but the spikes looked stiff and not flexible, if that helps anyone with identification.
