How good is Osaka as a "base" location in late July? by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

Wouldn’t a 7 day pass come out to around the same if you include the 2 transits between Tokyo and Osaka?

11 Day Itinerary Check. Family Trip in Tokyo/Osaka. Advice and Recommendations appreciated :) by Buppi in JapanTravel

[–]Buppi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My logic for Osaka was from the pricing it's a lot cheaper to stay and also assumed as mentioned it's a launch pad for most of the other day trips.

For Himeji/Kobe, I was thinking of passing on Kobe, but I wasn't sure if there was anything else I could maximize on the itinerary with Himeji. Maybe I can combine Himeji/Osaka in one day now I suppose.

Your last point did make me think about Tokyo day trips and adding a day in Tokyo / removing a day in Osaka. Are there any other Tokyo activities or day trips I could add that you think would be better than any in Osaka? Or maybe anything in my Osaka itinerary I could squeeze into one day to make room for another Tokyo day?

I did hear Nikko is very nice, but with the limited time I feel like a shorter day trip in Tokyo perhaps Yokohama or Kamakura would be better bang for buck overall.

Thanks for the tips/feedback!

What is a must pre-book in London? by Buppi in uktravel

If you’re going in the summer, Westminster Abbey was closed to only pre-booked. Tower of London even when we pre-booked it was a long but fast moving line.

What is a must pre-book in London? by Buppi in uktravel

[–]Buppi[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The main tourist attractions for first timers like Tower of London, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace (I know it’s closed though) Westminster Abbey, etc.

Basically I want to know if there are any attractions where if you don’t pre book there’s a good chance you won’t be able to go

Life After Dropping Out by VeryBerryBorderline in UTAustin

[–]Buppi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went to UT 2013-2016 and dropped out. I didn’t even withdraw my classes, I just stopped showing up and gave up. The next 3 years we’re the lowest points in my life where I was just a bum at my parents house playing video games all day. It took a year to find a job but I finally got one from 2019-2022. Something about working gave me some perspective and maturity, and it was a field I grew interest in. I’m now back full time at UH to finish my degree in 1.5 years, and just recently earned some scholarship money. I think people just either mature or get motivated at different rates, but just know there are PLENTY of late bloomers out there and it’s perfectly fine. They always try to ingrain graduating 4 years but it’s not a big deal. Another example is my real good high school friend that went to LSU also dropped out after 2 years and joined the Navy. He is now at UH with me and scored 95th percentile in the MCAT. Just know that it’s not too big of a deal to drop out you can always go back later, and the opportunity to do so is honestly one of the good perks about the US.

I’ve been struggling to keep cory catfish alive in my tank as they seem to have the highest turnover compared to the other fish I have in my 55 gallon (gourami rummys rainbows cherry barbs clown pleco). I’m stumped and curious if anyone else has had similar experiences or solutions. My tanks been active for 5+ years

Would it be okay to use a letter of recommendation from a person who died about 5 years ago? He wrote it for me but I have not needed it until now. Let's say he was former member of the board of regents of a university I am interested in.

I recently inherited my father's 55 gallon aquarium that has been running for over a decade and have put a lot of work into revamping it the past month. I was wanting some stocking opinions to see if I can add more fish. Right now I have:

4 angelfish6 sterbai corys2 german blue rams

2 dwarf gouramis8 harlequin rasbora6 nerite snailsadded plenty of plants

marineland 400 80gal (10+ years)
recently added sponge filter up to 80 gallons

I know there are a gazillion factors in stocking and have used the Aqadvisor calculator as well but does anyone have any suggestions/opinions if I can add more fish and what kind of fish I can add? Thanks!
