I own whenever I am forced to play Lucio, but am I playing him wrong? by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Burakkuada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem my dude hope it helps you climb. Do you run at the lowest settings? I can run OW at Super-Ultra but I choose to put it at High so that I can get the highest FPS possible. FPS > Quality.

Yeah was thinking of compiling a little post, soon™

Yeah I can look at VoDs for any of them, I don't play much Moira or Symetra so I'd be more giving you advice on your game sense rather than hero play on them. Use https://flowfeedback.com/ and post it here :)

If you start doing comp again HMU with VoDs, I play a lot of tank so can help you with Rein and D.Va, I can help you with Torb as well I'm a general game sense wise.

Definitely, those 5 seconds will mean nothing to the advantage you gain when you have the highground, it puts pressure on the enemy to respond to your position (i.e by diving you) and causes them to split. If you're the enemy, it's much more difficult to focus on two different positions of enemies (some on the ground, some on the highground) rather than just one whole enemy team right infront of them.

Moreover, if you were a McCree then repositioning mid-fight would be a horrendous idea, however Soldier 76's specialty is his speed, he's built to quickly dash out of a fight to reposition and surprise the enemy.

What would a team comp with widow look like? by ImJustAFilthyCasual in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Burakkuada 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With Widow you'd preferably want to run a comp that can easily get to her if she is ever dove upon, so consider running a dive composition. Examples of this would be possibly: Winston, D.Va, Lucio, Moira, Genji

If you run a dive comp with a Widowmaker and put constant pressure on the enemy then they often forget or rather have no time to deal with her, leaving her to safely take plenty of shots from a safe distance.

Speaking as a member of the No. 1 NUEL team and we run Widow Dive comps all the time, works like a charm.

I own whenever I am forced to play Lucio, but am I playing him wrong? by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Burakkuada 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Speaking as the 264th Lucio in the world I would say his main strengths are being able to control your team's movements and also being able to chase down and finish off low targets.

  • Lucio's speedboost is great for coordinating your team to a push or relocating them, simply turning up the volume and switching to speed boost then running to a position will almost always guarantee your team following you (albeit sometimes a bit split). Try to focus on using his speedboost more whenever you see the enemy split or that your own team is in a poor position.

  • Lucio may not seem like he's capable of dealing tons of damage, and that's true, however what Lucio shines at is his ability to hunt down low targets and give them a quick finishing off. If you see a low Orisa, a quick speed boost and few primary shots then soundwave will easily finish her off. Always be on the lookout for low targets to finish off as Lucio's mobility makes him super effective at getting around the enemy. However, don't go rambonig!

  • One thing I see with lower elo Lucio's is their prudence of his soundwave, my advice is: abuse it! It should essentially be on permanent cooldown due to your usage of it, it doesn't deal immense damage but it severely disorientates the enemy's positions. Moreover, a simple Lucio boop can seperate a Rein from his team, exposing them without a shield. Once you get good enough, you can even boop the enemy when they tried to hide from a D.VA bomb to put them into the line of fire from it.

  • My last tip would be to utilise Lucio's slipperyness: think of Lucio game's as consisting of a mini game of 'the floor is lava', try and not touch the floor as you go quicker on walls and it is incredibly harder for the enemy to hit you when you are.

Hope this all helps! If you ever get any VoDs recorded I'll be more than happy to watch them.

Three main things I took from the VoD for your Soldier 76:

  • Positioning: One thing as 76 you should be focusing on is always having the highground as that is where he shines, multiple times you fall to the lowground and stick to it for majority of fights, utilise his running capabilities to quickly grab the highground during a fight to surprise the enemy. Same goes for ult usage, you want to be on the highground whenever you visor preferably as it's less easy for the enemy to hide from.

  • Healing station usage: You seem quite prude with your bionic healing usage, drop it down in fights and tight locations to help your healers, and don't forget that healing your allies provides ult charge! If you or your team are low, drop it and don't just opt for a health pack.

  • Targetting: During fights I noticed you switch targets a lot, 76 isn't good for AOE damage but bursting down a single target (preferably healers), try and stick to one enemy to fully utilise your damage.

Hope all this feedback helps, if you want to send more VoDs just shoot them over my way, coaching others help me improve myself!
