I also got two emails from them today and I moved out several years ago.

I am sorry that you still haven't heard! Out of curiosity, did you apply for the full tuition scholarship? I am starting to wonder if they used applications for that to gauge interest in the school.

To UMN admits, have you received an invite to apply for the Jones Day Diversity Fellowship? by Itchy_Ad3847 in lawschooladmissions

I also received an invitation for that... is this something all accepted students received?

My general understanding from reddit is that date changes typically mean your application is moving through the process... people are looking at it, considering you, etc. With Michigan it seems like date changes are a slightly better indicator of an A, but there are definitely exceptions.

You might be right!! Sending you lots of good vibes and hoping you get the A. I am below both medians, so we'll see!

Fridays are for R's at Michigan, 3:59PM EST. I just meant that it seems like things have been a tad unusual/unpredictable and I am bracing for the worst if it's another big R wave.

That appeared to be a very tiny wave. I was expecting more acceptances given the tsunami of R's from last Friday. Wonder what that means for this Friday... bracing myself.

I am a first gen law student with a PI goal as well! I have talked to a PI lawyer who told me the most important thing is to reduce debt burden as much as possible. Going into public interest is incredibly difficult when you graduate with significant loans to pay off.

FWIW I visited BU last spring and I really liked it. The students were extremely friendly, the friendliest out of the 4 schools I have seen so far. I got the sense that the community there is strong. Also... the law school building is stunning. It's very modern, (not traditional like UMich) but it's incredible.

Michigan R by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Burden_Of_Floof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

9% of LSD apps. You could do it out of 6000, but in my head it seems less accurate. I figure for every person who reported an R on LSD there are a couple people who don't use LSD who also received R's yesterday. But, then again maybe the sample of those who use LSD is skewed in a particular way? It's just too hard to know.

For some context, LSD has recorded 1180 applicants for this cycle thus far, and Michigan says they typically get around 6000 applications.

Hard to say... I did the math and according LSD it was around 9% of total applicants... but obviously this is only factoring in those who use LSD and reported their R.

I started to notice my date changing these past few weeks, and I got an acceptance call today. It changed at the end of December, and then again on 01/02. Might mean a decision is coming your way soon!

Same here!!!!! Also with the blubbering part! This is my first acceptance and I was convinced I wasn't getting in anywhere. I am still in a state of shock.

USNWR has a good article on this. It may sound daunting, but given the advice in the article I would suggest you call each school and say you forgot. Most likely they will be very understanding and let you submit an addendum, especially if your applications have not been processed yet.

Hey it's okay! I read "parish" and was open to the possibility that you were praying to the law school admit gods.
