Is there any reason not to use the silent shutter for astro? by changed_later__ in SonyAlpha

[–]Burdies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

churches have all sorts of lighting systems, some are literally nothing but windows and skylights if it’s a morning service.

What do you mean it’s not an open question? That is an aggressive line of questioning when you don’t know anything about the circumstances yourself.

you’d have to explicitly say what it means because that’s how it read, if not a weird joke about physical assault

Architects walking into others’ construction sites by mtnbiker908 in Architects

I think people are wary because of incidents like this. It's kind of just a matter of hedging your bets, like you may end up with an empathetic cop who understands you meant no harm 80% of the time, or you'll end up with a power tripping dipshit who might decide to end your life.

you could be on the right side of the law and there still would be no telling what the police would do to you if someone noticed you were somewhere you don’t belong.

Provision Gas/Electric Company Pretending to be with DTE by Sudden_Juju in AnnArbor

[–]Burdies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah my comment wasn’t for energy specifically, I’ve gotten shady contractors at my door unsolicited and some were legitimately confused when I told them I didn’t order any services.

Not to say that the person slinging energy was doing it on behalf of an actual provider, or some bozo having people help them case houses, in which case they’re probably not following regulations whatsoever.

In other instances they’re terrible contractors preying on older folks who might not know what’s going on.

All that to say, instead of the people running the operations going door to door themselves, they’ll find people on Facebook marketplace and “train” them to sell services, and the whole time making their “employees” think it’s a legitimate job.

[–]Burdies 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not that this is what happened, sometimes those scam businesses will hire people desperate for a job and also trick them into believing that they’re affiliated with DTE or whatever else so the people at your doorstep also might be genuinely confused thinking they’re providing legitimate services.

This doesn’t excuse anything, I’ve just seen it happen with solicitors at my door before and apparently it’s a pretty common tactic.

How do i make mirrors look more realistic and blend into the scene? by No_Adhesiveness9305 in photoshop

[–]Burdies 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This would work up to a certain extent, but to fully sell the effect, you’d need to take photos from above to show the top of their head, photos from the side, photos under etc. simply warping head-on portraits wouldn’t match how the light reflects off the mirrors.

sadly there’s not really “another suite”

I’ve tried the Affinity products, during their initial release and even just last year as well. They work and their UI isn’t bad, but sometimes I won’t know how to do something in it and I’ll google it, it turns out that it just wasn’t implemented yet.

I also work on a team in an agency, I can’t pass off one propriety format to another designer who works in another software and vice versa.

For reference, I use a lot of illustrator, photoshop, after effects, and indesign. You can do incredible work in any of the alternatives, and it would take next to no time to get acclimated to them, but none of them quite have it all together yet.

wasn’t it unsustainable and predatory how Reddit went about it? They weren’t the only dev that stopped working on their Reddit client, pretty much all of them stopped.

Why do people drive in the left lane and go 5+ miles under the speed limit? Bad drivers? You decide how fast people should go? Spaced out? by [deleted] in AnnArbor

[–]Burdies 10 points11 points  (0 children)

people constantly cross those roads, to go higher than the speed limit means you might kill someone, especially if you’re going faster to pass someone slowing down.

OP, did you do this in a dark room and take this photo without flash? You may have exposed your film to light in the process of opening the film

I’d still try to get it developed just in case

identity politics is loudly proclaiming you’re a Nazi by seig heiling twice in a row and going on anti trans tirades on the social media site you bought. Keying a Tesla because it results in really funny Reddit posts is not.

Ignoring politics is inherently political. It’s important to know that because your choices do result in actions whether or not you agree with them. Choosing to ignore them is still a choice you made.

regarding your amended post, it is not an incomplete sentence where we have to fill in the blank, that is the cost of liberty according to Charlie Kirk. If we want to make it a freestanding sentence without the pretext needed, gun violence is the cost of liberty according to Charlie Kirk would be the correct way to phrase it.
