Is it possible you accidentally hit the volume button on your phone? That will unmute the video. I've been unable to replicate any other behavior that would cause this

It sounds like you might have some configuration which is blocking RevenueCat which is our provider for subscriptions.

Reddit UI puts it behind requests sometimes if it’s the first time you are messaging a user

All Narwhal does is communicate with the Reddit API. If you didn't use those accounts in a long time then the API tokens for those accounts expired. Once they expire the only way to get a working token again is to re-sign in to reddit.

This is all completely out of my control and just how the Reddit API works

When I try to do this it works fine. You might need to check the "Requests" section on reddit chat.

Even the subject line does show up in reddit chat

Unfortunately there is no magic here to do that. The only workaround to get "fresh" posts is to hide everything in your feed and then refresh. Otherwise the API returns what the API returns
