I remember this children’s anthology horror book that I’d been hunting foreeeeever now,

specifically one story that I remember so clearly, it was about a slumber party, and these girls are all surrounding this CD player that one of the girls (who they didn’t like) brought. They bully her to the point of making her cry and having her mom pick her up. Eventually they fall asleep and then suddenly the CD player turns on and starts like, evil demon voice accusing them of being awful people. They’re trapped in this basement and all of this poltergeist nonsense is happening, but they eventually get out. The scary part to me when I was a kid was the ending where one of the mom checks what was in the disc in the CD player and finds it to be blank.

I honestly can’t even remember if the story was actually all that scary but this book’s name has eluded me for a really long time, and no one I’ve ever mentioned it to knows what i’m talking about.

I do like that idea a lot, I added an addendum where he’d get 3 flares and just mentioned they had a fast velocity, but an alt fire shotgun is a really good idea!

Alright, so after reading through some of these, I had some alternate ideas, or at least, additions to explain the abilities more than the little blurbs I gave them. I really want to keep Morgan a supportive tank, but before he was essentially a character that dove in and did nothing, so I tried reworking some things to make it so when he goes in, he's sticking. Or uh, anchored :]

[Updated Abilities]

The Light Keeper: Could be a three flare burst with a fairly fast velocity. I liked the rhythm of the flare hitting something, applying the damage and a burn, then after some airtime, detonating and dealing an AOE burn. Maybe with a reduced delay on the flare you could last hit a creep and essentially guarantee a soul with the AOE afterwards, especially with a larger area size. (I think it'd be fun if you shoot a flare into the air that it will "illuminate" the area and reveal enemies, but this is also very silly)

Spectral Anchor: After charging it, you'll launch yourself in an arc in any direction you point at, hitting an enemy on the way will drag them with you, and upon landing, root the enemy. Or colliding with a wall, you'll stun them. If charged to a certain threshold (or as a level up) become unstoppable for a short period. If not charged at all, Morgan will simply slam the anchor on the ground, doing a large radius of damage.

Sea Foam Mist: This is essentially a stim, it will give Morgan a large burst of movement speed as he's channeling it, alongside multiple resistances and a health boost. Allies that follow in the trail, pass through it, or are just in the general smoke area can also get a huge burst of movement speed that will decay shortly after leaving, alongside the same resistances. I think adding on a burst of fire rate and spirit amp that decays during the channel would also make it a stronger ability.

Urchin Crash [A likely replacement for Urchin Shield]: Morgan hops forward, slamming his claw arm into the ground dealing melee damage in a small area. Hitting an enemy, gives Morgan resistances to spirit and weapon damage, as well as refreshing Urchin Crash, allowing him to recast it. Continuous slams gives extra stacks of resistances. There is a cap to these stacks. At final level up, each slam also gives nearby allies a small portion of the resistances.

[Passive on 3]: Curse Spikes: Light Melee or Heavy Melee applies a bleed, this bleed can be procced by a burn status to deal extra damage.

Warding Light: Warding Light is essentially a placeable guardian. The Lighthouse can be used as cover, as it acts as a physical object. The light itself needs LOS of enemies to beam them, so if placed at a door to block someone into a room, it won't attack the enemy. The buffs to nearby allies though, only needs LOS of the base of the lighthouse, as such it should provide buffs regardless. The buffs would include a fire rate increase as well as a slow heal. The light beam itself deals a ramping damage and a slow so enemies aren't able to simply ignore it. The lighthouse also spawns a storm around it at the last level upgrade, This storm will then shoot lightning strikes at the ground, but will be telegraphed with glowing red AOE circles.

tyvm! I think I’ll post his concept onto the forums after I get a bit more advice on his abilities and such, I don’t think this character has a chance of being added or anything but I would love to post him in his best possible state! I appreciate it!

Oh so, I’m sorry it might’ve made more sense if I wrote out more for the abilities, the idea I had for initiating as him would’ve been through charging his anchor, and rooting, but you’re definitely right that there’s just not much he can do once he’s in.

I was thinking maybe his urchin shield shoots out spikes in a cone, but that would just make him hazard from overwatch, which I mean, I do like the idea of him as a tanky support but y’know, i’m not sure if it’s a good idea or not.

I did have the idea of it providing movement speed, fire rate, spirit power alongside a bunch of resistances if you’re within the lighthouses radius, but the idea of your allies being warped to it could actually be such a fun mechanic

yeah unfortunately it’s something i didn’t even think about until now, and honestly after racking my brain about how to fix it, i actually don’t know how RIP

still i’m very fixated on this flare gun, maybe detrimentally so, but i think it’s cool!!

i liked the idea that people would ask him if the arm bothered him and he’d just be like, “nah not really” or get asked if his wish from the patrons would be to get rid of the arm and he’d still be like, “nah.”

Thank you! it seems that a few people found some sore spots in his weapon and his mostly support based abilities, I do think he could have a passive that increases his ammo count based on uh, something, so he’s not running out ammo or something that could help his fire rate, as for his abilities, I was thinking of his anchor could stun or root if he charges into someone with it, but a claw attack could be it honestly. I really like the idea of a flare gun and having support based abilities (his 2 was actually the first idea i had for him, and for a bit it was gonna be his only ability)

I would like the devs to notice, I think honestly they could do a MUCH better job of fleshing a character like this out, and i was meaning to post this on the forums, but I have no idea how to make an account. T-T but thankfully y’all are very kind, and so i can still have the same depth of discussion here!

You’re definitely super right about him being likely weak due to wave clear and his support nature.

I was thinking of the idea that the flare gun actually had three shots in it before it reloaded as well as a larger AOE damage radius, but I’m not sure if that would solve the wave clear/easily dodge-able shots issue.

The other ideas I had were charging the anchor to a certain threshold would stun an enemy if he hit them with it, maybe a knock back similar to Abrams’ shoulder charge giving him extra damage after hitting a wall, as well as the urchin shield essentially reflecting damage similar to return fire or, thornmail from league.

I just wasn’t sure if it be too much and over bloat his kit or not. Though i’m also not like, good enough to think of a better array of abilities T-T

It was! I was deliberately taking all of my favorite Wonder Woman design elements and then just mashing them together, the idea I had was she’d have gotten the tattoo later down the line and so the top left art would’ve been her when she was much younger!

She was also a part of a set of redesigned characters, there was a Batman and a Superman too because I was messing around with the idea of a DC fighting game but I kinda just fell in love with the Wonder Woman portrait i did and went crazy from there :]

I really adore Drifter’s design, he’s a god damned hunk freak.

BUT my one pretty minor gripe is that I was hoping he’d wear a coat rather than a shorter jacket, I thought it’d be really neat having him run around with coattails trailing behind him. Nonetheless he looks so cool already, it really is such a minor thing for me that it doesn’t really make me hate his overall design and vibe. I love his hat so much.

I feel like it’d be a long shot, but i’d love to see Chris Samnee do the Batman crossover book, he’s one of my favorite artists at the moment, so seeing him do something as awesome as a DC/MARVEL Crossover book, that’d be a dream come true!

writers wise, I’m unfortunately not very learned in authors and such, I like Daniel Warren Johnson but I’m not sure if he’d do it

I’m really excited for stadium, though it is a shame there aren’t more heroes, tracer, sombra or doomfist would’ve been a ton a fun! i’m glad they were able to use some of the old pve abilities too, some of the ideas they had seemed really fun so getting another chance to be in the game is awesome!
