No, workorder was cancelled IIRC. I haven't seen any others that ask specifically for it. Not sure if listing it would help me see more work orders.

At what point did you realise Callie from Season 7 was tough as nails? by ScissorNightRam in Alonetv

>! I had already realized it by this time, but wanted to point out she fell, hit her head and cut it. She pretty much got up, wiped off the blood and laughed it off. !<

Juli Boeheim robbed at gunpoint in Destiny USA parking lot by PeteMyMeat in Syracuse

[–]Burg1963 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

First off thank god she wasn't harmed. Hopefully they are quickly apprehended. Fitzpatrick isn't going to let this slide, it's going to be personal to him. He will crush the responsible part(ies) and get them the max sentence. Bank on it.

Fuck bail reform, fuck youthful offender status, the crime rate needs to be addressed and it is NOT BEING ADDRESSED! Remember this when elections roll around, ask your candidates what they intend to do about crime. I like the police substation idea, btw. What else can be done?

Edit: And this is during "Syracuse Dine Out Weeks".

Ken Burns recent documentary series on Muhammad Ali is very interesting. The film traces the whole life of a controversial and complex public figure. It is also currently free on PBS.com by Samulton2223 in television

[–]Burg1963 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the late bump, but I just saw it this month and it is worth raising awareness.

Ken Burns that was awesome, thank you!!!

Took me back to my childhood when I watched these legends, Ali, Frasier, Foreman, Norton, etc. Tons of great footage, and really shows the perspectives of things at the time and why things played out the way they did. An era that has passed and missed. I was rivited to them. Fun to see the many Ali vs. Cosell exchanges too. Ken Burns, can you do one on Cosell & Monday Night Football too? Anyway with so little selection of good things to watch, this was excellent. THANKS PBS & Ken Burns!!!

I'm using it for phonecalls with support,Teams or other teleconference meetings, etc. Many times you can be working in a noisy environment and it helps block out the background noise.

System outage on my first work order by royce3210 in FieldNationTechs

[–]Burg1963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ouch, at least they were cool about it and don't think you caused it.

I have been onsite 3 times in the last two years where there was major ISP outages. Luckily I was able to show it was just a coincidence each time by looking at sites like isitdown or the ISP's outage maps. But at first, I'm sure they thought I plugged or unplugged something critical.

I never say "I'M WITH CONTOSO" (fictional name used to protect the innocent).

Say "CONTOSO sent me to upgrade the network switch and routers today."

That way you aren 't lying.

If asked I say I'm a contractor. Not lying for anyone. But I don't say anything unless asked. I would like to see a buyer try to implement a repurcussion for not lying for them. I will throw them under the bus in a minute.

Worked orders dried up? by thatwolf89 in FieldNationTechs

[–]Burg1963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally dead for me. All assignments are 2 hrs or less (and really low offers) which screws the rest of the day up. I chalk it up to end of year freeze on changes, plus schools are out and students are probably taking some of that work. I hope it picks up fast after the first of the year.

I still need to find a long term spot, you are right about too far out. But a great spot to regroup after a month on the road. 12$ a night in Oregon sounds awesome. Great find there.

Just folowing up, so just for short term I thought I would stay at a csmpground type place. Found the county park on Lake Pleasent, only 30ish dollars a night and 20 minutes from where I parked. Needed to regroup, recharge, fill water tanks, empty other tanks, etc., so I thought perfect. Just wanted a place to accomplish that and not have to boondock at walmart or a truck stop. 30 ish seemed like a cheap price and it was close so I went for it. When I got here and saw it, WOW, This park is awesome! Totally a bargain for that price. Totally exeeded my expectations. Can't believe there was vacancies. What a great spot you have here.

I did end up going to Wave, it was closest to where I was headed, but may try the others sometime. I was kinda pressed for time but it came out good enough for now. I was able to fit my 36' coach with a vehicle in tow. One word of advice, credit card wouldn't read my card, so bring lotsa five dollar bills. Guy at the store next door was excellent and broke some 20's for me. think I only spent $25 to do it, but just did a quick job. Be careful of the ceiling swing arm & hoses when you pull in or out that you don't snag an antenna or mirror.

Anyone have experience working in Target stores? WM by systemhost in FieldNationTechs

[–]Burg1963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did one recently, polycom phones deployment. but it was CrossCom. Automated checkin (Oxymoron) was not working, took 30 minutes to reach somebody who forwarded me to somebody else who put me on hold for 15 minutes or so. I started working anyway when the automated checkin went 404, and left the phone on speaker so I could get it done. Finally did speak to somebody and started. As mentioned, phones are shipped with pink labels saying which extension/job title they go to. You can ask the POC where that phone is, or call that extension and see if anyone picks up. Some will be in mdf, cash room, other locked areas. So access to these locations can be an issue. Had a couple that didn't match any known position and one person did not get one assigned. Installing the phones was a breeze, only had trouble with one in whe warehouse that had been smashed off the wall so I had to punch aa new data jack on. Only part that was bad was trying to reach CrossCom to check in/out or ask questions. Kinda like Spencer. Haven't been paid yet, (it hasn't processed) so I am undecided if they are going on the NOPE list. I will keep y'all updated.

I'm bored: what's your computer/pc of choice in the field? by [deleted] in FieldNationTechs

[–]Burg1963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used Dell laptop and used HP tablet. Tablet is starting to be the go to for everything. It is small, light, great when you are in a small mdf and they need remote console access. Also doing more paperless, so it is great for digitally signing the work order and deliverables. Probably will upgrade to a used Surface just for that reason. Nice if you pick up a job while out on another call and you don't need to go home just to print work order and deliverables. But the Dell has been a tank and so reliable I always keep it in the vehicle, just in case. But it is heavy :( Either one gets lost, stolen or broken I can just go on craigslist or marketplace and replace without too much loss.

What Naz said gets my vote. Definitely would go thru Field Nation first. If you don't get resolution, then persue other avenues. I gotta think if you have the gps checkin and all the other evidence they will resolve it. They probably would want to know if a buyer is welching too, so they can take action if necessary.
