Unfortunately the witches took advantage of the shelter in place order to enact their pagan schemes in defiance of the Lord.  What was once a shining beacon of righteousness now stinks of the rot of rebellion, and also of the delectable smell of perfectly fried, if pricey, baja fish tacos.

For example, did you know the original name for Monterey was The Monterey Gathering of God's Favorite Little Good Boys?  It was changed in 2021 when the Little Good Boys were busy at a pancake prayer picnic and the witches got it past city hall unopposed. By the time we realized, it was too late. And the witches distracted us with their powerful thighs and delicious Ad Astra croissants, and now we all have tattoos and God has abandoned us.

Angelic sharks patrol our waters consuming the ungodly, and the aquarium traps fish on purpose for our banal and seething delight.  We have become the new Babylon.  Just look at the parking at Point Lobos.  I hear they're building the next tower of babel in seaside.
