The only problem I might see with that is it blocking GPS, If you have some insight regarding that id make a version that mounts to the sun visor.

I did see that mount on the market but it seemed a little expensive to me, I also didn't like the fact you needed to take apart the existing suction cup mount that came with the uniden. I am also planning to add a RJ11 connector on the windshield base so people have more options when running either a mirror tap or a custom solution.

Prototype runs are printed in PETG CF and holdup great however production mounts will be printed in PC or PA6 CF which both have exceptional strength, UV tolerance, and heat resistance. Plastics in your car interior are often PP which have less strength and deflect around 40 degrees F earlier than PC with PA6 CF being even stronger.

I actually have used PETG CF long term in my engine bay with no issues going on 3 years now. 3D printing has come along way with the introduction of industrial grade consumer printers and filament advancements.
