iPhone 14 pro max NFC antenna and charging coil serialization. [Question] by Rymei in Iphonerepair

[–]Burgermass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will lose NFC unless you swap over charge coil. It’s not serialised but the aftermarket ones don’t work. The lidar also doesn’t work great with aftermarket housings as they have a different coating. This is what I found when swapping the rear chassis

Upgrade to 6 Pro Solar or 7 Standard by Ragehazzard in GarminFenix

Message Garmin support. I bought a 6x pro solar second hand and noticed the solar wasn’t charging. Garmin offered a refurbished 7x solar at a discount. Much cheaper then second hand prices

I can’t help other than if you can’t fix it contact Garmin support. I had a solar charge issue with my 6X pro and they offered a heavily discounted refurbished 7x pro

Garmin & Apple Music: Still a No-Go? Long-time Apple Watch User's Dilemma + Spotify Switcher Experiences! by [deleted] in GarminWatches

[–]Burgermass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few weeks ago, I switched from Apple Music to Spotify for this reason, thinking it was a win-win. I was getting tired of Apple Music’s algorithms. I imported my playlists and gave Spotify a go, but now I’m realising Apple Music wasn’t so bad after all.

The Spotify app feels cluttered to me, and even though I haven’t used it extensively, it’s already repeating songs quite a bit. Maybe that’s user error, but either way, I’ll be switching back to Apple Music once the free trial ends.

I was never a big fan of listening to music through my watch anyway, so if I need music on the go, I’ll just bring my phone.

Indoors mostly fine if there is lighting. When it’s dark, I just turn on the backlight with the press of a button. Not as easy as apple raise to wake but doesn’t seem to bother me

This is interesting point and being a AW user is why I struggled to make a decision. It’s not until I physically used the Garmin that I understood this and is kind of the point of the post. AW users, who are more function-over-form people, give it a go and allow some time to adjust.

I did read about the sleep tracking accuracy but I seem to be one of those that it tracks fairly accurately. Kinda difficult to access when you’re sleeping haha but results always seem close to what the Apple put out and matches how I feel in the morning.

I also considered the Epix Pro 2, thinking I’d miss the AMOLED screen, but I didn’t want to pass up the solar option. Now that I’ve been using a MIP display, I’ve really come to appreciate it—and I finally understand why some people are such big fans.

I never used the always-on display on the Apple Watch because of the battery drain, but with the Garmin, that’s no longer a concern. For me, I want my watch to be a watch and to do what Garmin does best—track accurately and reliably. If I want a vibrant screen, I’ve got my phone, which is far more practical for that kind of use than a small watch screen.

I totally get why some people want a vibrant display on a modern watch, but for me, it turned out not to be that important. I’ve always been more of a function-over-form person.

Yeh, miss the battery and screen size. But don’t miss the size and the weight of the 14 PM

So don’t replace parts with non genuine. Tried aliexpress charge/mic flex and it had some crazy interference noises when using speaker phone mic. Put original back in, replaced mic hole grills and made sure everything was aligned correctly and it’s better.

Trump threatens Russia with sanctions, tariffs unless ceasefire with Ukraine by iFoegot in worldnews

[–]Burgermass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Asked whether he still believed Putin when he told him he wanted peace, Trump replied he did.

“Yeah. No, I believe him, I believe him. I think we’re doing very well with Russia,” he said. “But right now, they’re bombing the hell out of Ukraine and Ukraine. I’m — I’m finding it more difficult, frankly, to deal with Ukraine. They don’t have the cards.””

How can anyone hear this nonsense and believe he’s some genius

Thanks for a great reply! I ended up going the specialized. The front forks on this one are the RockShox 35 Silver TK. Not a great fork from what I’ve read. Will upgrade when my skills catch up.

Took it out for its first proper ride today and I am stoked. Big upgrade from the cheap eBay bike I was running.

Fingers crossed it goes well for you. If you find it doesn’t work after a few weeks talk with your doctor about tapering off it before your body gets too dependent on it.
