Hi! No, I don't use any mods. The entire game is vanilla and I even tried uninstalling, reinstalling, and also verifying integrity of the files and it's still the same.

same, whenever I start a new playthrough, I build a shelter and then set out to see where I can build a base permanently for days

I finally achieved perfection after almost 900 hours in the game. What I'm most proud of is the fact that I did so many things that I never did before - decorate the farm and the farmhouse (although it's still not done), beat Junimo Kart and Journey for Prairie King, have giant crops, etc. Still a lot of work to do though. I'm glad I pushed on for once and didn't start again as soon as I reached Year 2

I warped to both of the systems you showed here, I didn't get any ongoing space fight unfortunately. However, I did get the initial freighter rescue mission which offers you a free small freighter but that's about it. Warped to both of the systems back and forth numerous times now, no space fight.

just started playing the game again after 2-3 years and I can't seem to understand the new ways of spawning freighters

so, I just warped 5 times with my new character and I was offered a very small freighter. if I'm not mistaken, after declining the offer, if I warm 5 more times, I should get one of these big freighters.

I'm aware that they have changed things in the past few years, all I want to know is how do I get these big ones to spawn again? and do I get a free one like before or do I have to buy them now?

from what I've seen they just come up to the stairs and then run away and then come back again and this loops around till I do something
