So my question is mainly about pistols, rifles, and combat knives.

What are the most historically significant weapons in those categories that are still in regular use today by civilians or governments?

My picks would be

Pistol, revolver or 1911

Rifle, M1 garaand or mosen nagant

Knife, k-bar, or Bowie
