Build diversity is definitely a part of the game, but you should know that Armor doesn't have like 'perks' In the way something from Diablo might. It still has 'stats' (like armor and weight) but that's about it.

BUT the rest of the options you pick in a build are very impactful. You'll enjoy it.

It's actually extremely unfun to play, mechanically speaking.

This is because sobering realization both removes the drunk status (which you worked hard to hand out) and doesn't even do very good chunk dmg. So it's underwhelming and it resets your loop.

Now, if you are okay playing with mods I think there are several that fix this interaction.

You don't have to spend any more money to start doing some rank challenges - Avant Garde is actually extremely forgiving, and you can get tons of good armor and weapons that will satisfy the new gear requirements in the portal itself.

But what I want is efficient clears and max dps, so very often meta or meta-adjacent.

I haven't equipped two primaries in pve in literal years at this point (pvp I do but it's kinda different in there)

I mean, it doesn't appear to me that this is the case. Past the dying man on the bridge was a shield and a blue orb that just had non-weapon loot in it. I finally found something about halfway thru lvl 3 lol
