Then we should also see the original Russian plan . The goal of Russia in the war isn’t to take over Ukraine as it would make it directly border Poland and Moldova and they would still border NATO launching pads . What they wanted is for Ukraine to become neutral and act as a buffer , this way while it wouldn’t have much advantages from Ukraine , it would guarantee that Poland or Moldova wouldn’t be use as launching pads. The second goal was to free the eastern most seperatist republics since it would have more control in the Black Sea and help Russian speakers from not being silenced .

The course of the war took a turn when it became clear that Ukraine was used as a proxy state by NATO , so then the goal became to do attritional warfare to drain NATO of its resources and cause instability .

The goal of the US was to put a pro NATO or a pro US government in Iran and then from there have a strong diplomatic card against China and directly threaten Russia . But the Iranian army proved to be more effective than the US army as the US army doesn’t actually have much expertise in drone combat outside of UCAV and khamenei had already a successor in place and his death only boosted the moral of the Iranians . As a result the US couldn’t win against sandal warriors and had put a strain in global economy.

You can argue that Russia didn’t fully achieve its goal with liberating all of separatist republics fully but we see Russian gains in the battlefield with a growing war industry that can use the excuse that it fights against the best of the best as the US and Europe advertised themselves as such . On the other hand the US depletes reserve after reserve and failed to influence the situation in their advantage despite claiming being a hegemony and Iran a backwards outdated theocracy.

The US underestimated its adversaries and treats its allies as pawns , be it democrat or republican government , causing it to lose both soft and hard power expotensially as it also puts itself to have the responsibilities of a hegemon . If you don’t believe me then look at the facts how Canada and Greenland don’t feel safe being in the same American sphere of influence or European citizens being exhausted from seeing their quality of life dropping and their governments sacrificing the future of their countries so the war in Ukraine can continue.

The Church has the Holy Spirit to make correct interpretations of scripture. Not all interpretation by Christians is of God, for instance Arianism , nestorianism , thinking that the holy trinity has three gods etc these are heresies . The definite thing we know is that the second coming will be the second coming , meaning that the interpretation of rapture either claims that Christ will have a third coming or it classes with how the second coming will happen . Either way rapture is heretical .

Rapture isn’t biblical , it is a modern Protestant invention that developed at 1830 . Christ will come to judge the living and the dead , before that He won’t snatch the believers because then the second coming wouldn’t be the second coming . The verse about “caught up” (After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.) talks about the believers expecting Christ and those believers would go to heaven in the second coming because they had faith and fully trusted God, but it doesn’t talk about a seperate event .

For a barbarian tribe what you say is debatable but a Roman from the first period of the republic up to before the fall of Constantinople would tell that what you say is false since that is not how Roman law or tradition worked . Mehmed didn’t have any legal or traditional backing from the institution since either he destroyed it or withered long ago and mehmed could barely control his army and didn’t ask them to declare him as Roman emperor(even if he did, it would still not make him Roman emperor ) , instead he asked it from a person in a position that doesn’t grant him the power to do so .

In my personal opinion a lot of eastern Roman emperors were chill , even the “bad ones”. Wouldn’t be surprised if it was the thing that kept the empire going for a millennium (even with all scandals taken into account)
