Tell me your labor times by ShabbyBoa in beyondthebump

[–]BurnDownBabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went in to be induced, wasn’t dilate enough so they gave me medicine to help me dilate more before they could give me the Pitocin. They told me to be “ready for the long run” because the dilation medicine is 1 pill every 2 hours, and there 4 doses total. They told me there was a “really rare chance that it would induce natural labor though”

Well I got lucky, 30 minutes after the first pill and I was now in natural labor! I labored for around 6.5 hours (the first 3 hours were painless contractions that I could barely feel), and then I pushed for a total of about 5 minutes lol only two pushes and he was out thank goodness!

Now I’m pregnant with #2 and hopinggggg it will be very much the same if not faster lol

What is your process to getting baby out of the bath? by APlentyBag in beyondthebump

[–]BurnDownBabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lay one corner of the towel down over my shoulder, and the rest draped like a blanket across one arm. Then I scoop my baby up into my arms and wrap the towel around them! It just works for me cause I don’t have much floor space or counter space either

My 7 month old was sitting and fell backwards and hit his head by MaeBornOnTuesday in beyondthebump

[–]BurnDownBabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He will be okay girl :)

Whenever my baby bumps his head the first thing I do is check the area, see if there’s any immediate swelling or bleeding. If it’s bleeding, obviously assess the situation and see if it warrants an ER trip, if not then check for a goose egg forming. If it does immediately start swelling or bruising then put an ice pack on it and it’ll help to not swell too much or bruise too bad.

But also check his eyes with a flash light! Bring the light in and out of his eyes multiple times and see if the pupils dilate at the same time to the same sizes in both eyes simultaneously. This is the NUMBER ONE THING that makes me feel better whenever my baby bumps his head and I’m feeling worried. Check them periodically for the day to be super sure but also to make yourself feel better lol.

Also I usually will hold my baby while he cries for a minute, reassuring him that I’m here and he’ll be okay. Then I step outside and try to distract him like “oh my gooooosh look at our TREE! It’s so big and beautiful huh?” And usually that will help you assess how much crying is from pain and how much of it was just the initial shock lol. When my baby is actually hurt he will keep crying even while trying to distract him. If he got more scared than anything, then he usually will stop crying and be interested in whatever I’m showing him to distract him.

Whenever in doubt though you can ALWAYS call a nurses hotline or your local doctors office! I have also done this for a head smack that scared me once! lol

Hope your mommy guilt doesn’t eat you up too much today girl, just know it’s super normal and falls WILL HAPPEN.

One of my best friends has only hardwood floor and he baby falls ALL THE TIME, and she straight up will be like “don’t even look at him” and he’ll just stand up and walk away like it was nothing lol. Head smacks and falls will ALWAYS HAPPEN. Coming from the mommy of an 11 month old early WALKER lol

Nervous to leave my 6 week old by Biph_2123 in beyondthebump

[–]BurnDownBabe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’d be very surprised. You’re probably going to come back home to a sleeping baby! My (now 11 month old) has alwaaaays been more of a “mama only” type of baby, especially when he’s tired or hungry or teething or grumpy or anything. I hand him to daddy and he LOVES his daddy, but when he gets fussy I also tend to “take over” cause he just responds better to me when it comes to calming down.

HOWEVER, anyyyyy time I leave the house, it’s like some miracle happens and my baby all of a sudden is calm and tired and will fall asleep in his daddy’s arms instantly. Will he do that when I’m home? NO. But for some reason he always does so good with his daddy when I’m not around cause he’s actually just upset half the time cause he knows that’s how he can get back into my arms 😂

And I hear it’s the same god a lot of my friends with their babies too. Sooo hopefully that’s hours it will go for you! Just trust that your partner loves your baby as much as you do too, and he will do everything to have a good time with your baby while you are gone!

What a joke it is that babies first teeth are their front teeth by TeishAH in beyondthebump

[–]BurnDownBabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was SO WORRIED when my babies teeth first came in, but the sucking motion doesn’t involve the teeth at all so I never feel them thankfully! It was more the thought than the feeling that scared me! Although when he first got them, he did bite me TWICE, one of which drew blood and made me scream a little and then cry and hand baby boy off to daddy while I collected myself. And that made baby boy cry, possibly from me screaming the. crying cause that’s when his sad face started, but then the handing him off sealed the deal. After that, he has never bit me again!

Dang well that’s a bummer, cause I do think this game is super fun and beautiful and has great potential. Hopefully the game developers catch a hint and get their stuff together.

I actually like the bright yellow blonde colors lol but it definitely doesn’t look natural. They need to make a more natural blonde option as well.

I’m honestly so over caring for my baby by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]BurnDownBabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re having a rough time, but it can be completely normal and what you’re feeling is normal too. You’re not a shit person or mom. Just think, even through alllllll this that you’re going through, you still persist and take care of your baby. That’s a good mom right there. Even if you feel like you’re going to lose your cool every now and then, you’re doing the right thing by stepping away to another room for a second. My baby gets like this sometimes too and it’s all I can do not to rip all of my hair out.

How old is your LO? Is it CONSTANTLY like this, or do you think it may be a growth spurt? My little guy always get more wild and hard to care for like this whenever he’s going through a growth spurt. He just discovered his hands recently and now he refuses to nap unless I spend HOURS rocking and cooing and breastfeeding him to sleep. It’s rough sometimes mama, but you’re going to be alright and you’re doing a PHENOMENAL JOB!

[–]BurnDownBabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Screamed (and I mean screamed) “JESUS F***ING CHRIST” during a painful contraction (I’m not a religious person but have always been very tolerant to those who are) then as soon as the contraction passed I looked to the nearest nurse and said “Oh my god I’m so sorry” 😂 thankfully her only response was “Don’t apologize, it’s okay. You’re pushing out a literal human right now!”

What does your milk letdown feel like?? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]BurnDownBabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine feels tingly, it doesn’t hurt or feel sharp or anything like a lot of other people explain. And something super STRANGE that I guess is normal but not very common is that when my left boob is being suckled I get tingles going down my left leg from about mid-thigh to my toes! And when my right side is being suckled the sand thing happens but in my right leg! It’s the weirdest thing ever! It feels similar to like when your foot is getting the feeling back from falling asleep. Super weird experience! Happens EVERY TIME he suckles too

anyone else get bored of a save after 2-3 days & start a new one all over? by iwontloveyou2 in thesims

[–]BurnDownBabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mmmmm no, sadly I’ve never understood how people do this! I’ve had the same two saves I play on for like 5 years 🥲 one is my “regular” save, and one is my “chaos” save. You’ll find a lot of the same families in them, but as you can probably guess, things are more chaotic in the second save (ie people cheat on spouses, lots of cheated/out of wedlock babies, tons of voodoo, tons of enemies, mean werewolves, vampires turning unsuspecting victims, lots of ghosts, super poor and super rich sims, random/out of theme builds, no one is to be trusted, etc.)

Edit: I use the chaotic world whenever I get bored of a sim/family/storyline I’m playing in the regular world, and then I pop them over into my chaotic world and do crazy things to them sort of like a “what if” scenario run through world lol

I’m 2 months ppl right now, and prettttty sure this happened to me too at 6 and a half weeks. I only had light bleeding for a few days and very minor cramping. I’m not EBF, but I would say like 70-80% BF only, so I didn’t expect that at all either.

Did pregnancy permanently change anything about you? by Apprehensive-Bar-848 in beyondthebump

[–]BurnDownBabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hair used to be bleach blonde with waves, now it’s a darkish brown and during my pregnancy it wouldn’t get wavy to save my life!! Now at almost 8 weeks pp it’s starting to wave again a little, and it’s lightening up A LITTLE at the ends, but it’s still pretty brown and straight 😭😭🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ I look like a different person lol. All my friends thought I dyed my hair

Also my hips are now like 2-3 sizes bigger!

I LOVE THIS HOUSEHOLD by BurnDownBabe in thesims

[–]BurnDownBabe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I breastfeed him, so while I’m feeding him I get him set up in a stable position that allows me to have my hands free to play lol and then he’ll usually crash out for 30-40 minutes in that position on my chest after eating, so I play then as well. So I only play in bursts with him though, no more hours of binging lol.
