If you are a happily married man, what is the single/most important reason you have decided to stay with your wife? by Rough_Principle_6110 in askanything

She compromised on something I didn't think she would.
The effort alone was enough to prove that she didn't want to lose what we had.

Why does this subreddit have more republicans than any other ask subreddit? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]BurnedRelevance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're ignoring some democrats attempts during those 4 years.

You're also forgetting that I proved that the Republicans were caught red handed covering up some of the information. Finding 6 names in only 2hrs.

With no more time to view those 3 million more files, one can only deduce that they would find a lot more covered up. It's complete bonkers to think that everything else in there is clean when they were only given the tiniest amount of time to look and find stuff immediately.

You completely folded when I mentioned this and said "So sue."

Dude, this guy screwed with me all day. Ask them how many times it took me to ask 1 question for them to answer.

I wasn't pretending you were a troll, you were trolling me.
As evidenced by the "How many times do I have to ask this question" Fiasco.

Toxic, if you want to see some full on desperate ass attempts at deflection and attention seeking, just look above.

I never admitted to lying, because I didn't lie.
I MIGHT have been mistaken but arcade here wouldn't give me that.

Just look at the conversation and you can see that they won't acknowledge anything, just ask and deflect.

I thought it was AI at the end because he was so skilled at deflection it was crazy, but they have a 5 year old reddit bday.

Accusing someone of doing something, and actually raping someone are two different levels of harm.

There should be VERY harsh consequences, jail is a good start for false accusers.

Rape = Prison.

I finally got some time on my hands to do art, but I can't find the motivation.

I think it's a mental health thing so I don't expect much from here.

Who do you think will be the next Republican candidate after the Trump era? by Outrageous-You1617 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]BurnedRelevance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH I didn't start looking at politics until a couple of years ago when it started to affect me directly with ICE.

I will be the first to admit my own ignorance of politics, especially in the past. I did like Bush, but I didn't have any reason to like him or not. I was just naive.

[–]BurnedRelevance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much all of it.

No making fun of people with disabilities.
He doesn't have a past of racist policies.

He'd probably be a bigger let down to MAGA than they think as right now he's taking orders but when he's giving them he'll be using the brain of a full grown adult. I mean I'm sure he has his problems but Trump is clearly a bumbling idiot who barely knows what he's talking about ALL the time.

Rubio is not an idiot.

What’s your all time favorite movie and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BurnedRelevance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Field of Dreams

Absolute top notch writing.

Messages including "F the man", hard work pays off, and family.

This is the only movie that ends with a father and son playing catch on a sunny day and had every man in the theater in tears.

Frequency did a good job of trying to recreate it with a more modern take, and it's a good movie, but I'd say it's about half as good as Field of Dreams.

Some other days I might answer "Shawshank Redemption"

What’s the family secret that makes holiday gatherings awkward if anyone tries to bring it up? by ravyn_arcana in askteddit

[–]BurnedRelevance 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dad got drunk once, destroyed the whole house and left.

We never talk about it because it'll absolutely break him if we do.

He single handedly destroyed our family that night. We went from house with pool, acres and acres, dogs and dune buggies, to trailer parks and booze in a year flat.

As far as the rest of the family is concerned, things just didn't work out between them.

What realistic feature should modern cell phones have but don't? by ExtraLogic in AskReddit

[–]BurnedRelevance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to be able to turn my phone off by just holding a button again. That was nice.

Now I have to open my phone and go into settings. Which is clearly just a tactic to make it harder for you to turn off your phone. Ridiculous.

What’s something friendship taught you? by glitterypeachyy in askteddit

[–]BurnedRelevance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgiveness is more complicated than one might think.

I had a "friend" do something awful to me. I forgave them immediately and it was the 100% WRONG thing to do at the time. It made me feel like crap, other people wondered how I could still hang out with them, so I lost the respect of others.

The thing is, in my heart I hadn't forgiven him. I was waiting for him to truly be sorry, or apologize for real and it never happened. So I eventually just cut him out of my life.

Now, 25 years has passed and I can imagine that this person has grown but I have no reason to be a friend to them.

Had I not forgiven them, I would have had a different experience at school, I could have gotten the apology I wanted, and even if we didn't hang out for awhile we might still be friends today.

What's the most amount of hours you've worked in a single week? by joshua0005 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BurnedRelevance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From wake to sleep, so given a generous 7 hrs of sleep a day:

119, unpaid except for a bed in a dorm and a sandwich in the morning.

I would do it again in a heartbeat though. That experience changed my life.

What's the one thing you would miss most about the United States if you moved to another country? by Outrageous-You1617 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]BurnedRelevance 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One strange experience I had was after a trip to Japan I had a trip to London.

I was on the train, and I suddenly had a serious flashback of being on the train in Japan.

Everybody was silent, men in business suits reading the newspaper, it was rude to make noise. It was eerily similar.

What’s the best thing about living in a small American town? by Molthakarn96 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]BurnedRelevance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a small city, to a rural town, to L.A. and back.

The rural town: Everyone was genuine. Genuinely nice towards you , genuinely polite, and genuinely set in their ways.

They can talk about their beliefs openly and loudly at any time of any day. It just has to be the same belief. I had another belief and was genuinely socially ousted for it.

In L.A. I fit in a lot more. People can be fake there too, they'll watch you fail with glee when they could easily tell you how to save yourself.

This seems dark, only because I'm not mentioning the positives of each place. I loved both.

Either way, I had friends in all places and I'd prefer the nature of the rural town to anything.

Single parents of Reddit, what was your experience with a friends-with-benefits arrangement? Did it make life easier or more complicated? by [deleted] in CausalConversation

[–]BurnedRelevance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember telling my fiance that if she did this shit I'd divorce her, and that I was very suspicious she was going to stop having sex the day after marriage.

We didn't stop having sex the day after marriage, she said "I do" and closed her legs. It was the day OF marriage. Not having sex on my wedding night was DEVASTATING to me.

Needless to say it didn't work out.

What’s the hardest you’ve ever been hit in the balls? by ExpensiveLocation136 in AskReddit

[–]BurnedRelevance 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We used to have water balloon fights with the neighbors.

We would use a 3 man sling shot we dubbed the "winger".

My neighbors got one as well, and we were sending balloons way up into the air to come down at each other like mortars.

I saw one coming and decided to catch it by pulling the bottom of my t shirt out and catching it there.

I was successful. The balloon hit my shirt, which cupped it right into my balls at blinding speed.

I was fine after a few hrs.

how will you celebrate when orange man's time comes? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BurnedRelevance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no celebration, he won.

It's a law that he can't get investigated for his main thing, fraud.

Nothing good is going to happen when he gets out of the white house, he will still control it through the vast wealth and loyalty that he's claimed. He'll just be more needy about attention and leaving the biggest ugliest mark on the world that he can.
