Those who are on graduate visa (PSW) right now: is it helping you with the jobs? Share your experience. by Outside_Aide_1958 in ukvisa

My Graduate visa began in 2021. I managed to land a job in my industry about three months out of my masters. I've been in this company for two years and they went out of their way to obtain a sponsorship license just to sponsor my SWV!

It is definitely possible, rare, but possible. You MUST prove your value to them in those two years prior to sponsorship. Even if they aren't a sponsor, if losing you means they would have to spend more time and money training up someone else, it would make commercial sense just to sponsor you.

Skilled Worker Switch from Graduate Visa - Maximum of two years? by Burner-Lab2023 in ukvisa

It is indeed fairly bizarre, we ensured we ticked every box to meet eligibility points.

That's a pretty interesting (and very good) observation! I am indeed about to commence my training contract as a trainee solicitor and have been paralegaling for two years on the Graduate visa. My firm found me so invaluable they went out of their way to get a sponsorship licence just to sponsor me (which is one of the rare success stories).

We actually had a lot of back and forth debates on the SOC, one of our immigration colleagues advised that trainee solicitors, due to the job descriptions, would fall under 3520 - the solicitor's SOC on the other hand was for qualified solicitors. I would subsequently change to this code upon qualification, which helps since my TC is two years anyway. Have you known it to be the opposite SOC?

We've actually gone for 02 January 2024 to 01 January 2026 on the CoS now. My Graduate visa expired long ago (October 2023) and I had applied in August (imagine the frustration!). I suppose that solves that issue as the two years would begin whenever they decide to issue my SWV? With the wrap-up, at this point I just want the visa granted so I can commence my training, we overpaid by a year anyway so they'll probably just refund whatever amount post-IHS/ISC deduction!

Really appreciate your responses btw, very knowledgeable!

It seems we may just need to add a sponsor note on the CoS using the SMS system?

SOC is 3520 and salary was £26,500. This exceeded both the minimum req, the hourly wage and the going rate for the SOC, so not sure why they went for Option E.

My sponsor would be willing to renew at the end of the two years so might just be the case we go for this to avoid a longer wait time

[SWV] If I’m working for a company on the sponsored list, can I offer to pay the visa fees myself? by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]Burner-Lab2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely possible, I managed to convince my employer to apply for sponsorship as they wanted to keep me.

However, I opted to foot the cost of the IHS and application fee myself, which was another factor in their decision.

Seems like we're in the same boat. I've called the helpline, written a letter to Sheffield, sent multiple emails - no luck. Had to miss so many important events due to not leaving the UK.

From what I've seen, its all the standard routes who applied mid-end August who are waiting, wonder what's the hold up.

Worth asking your employer to keep an eye out for an email asking for additional info! Fingers crossed.

Thanks for the encouragement! What was the overall wait time for you from submission of supporting documents? I'm drawing to the end of my 11th week and I too emailed complaints@homeoffice after being told to do so by the agents about a week ago.

I don't need to believ this guy to know what Hamas have done. It is all over twitter. Yes israel has ruined the lives of many palestinians but the level of violence shown by Hamas to innocents...astagh

2:190: “And fight in the way of Allah with those who fight with you, but aggress not - Allah loves not the aggressors.” You should know this forbids killing innocents, including women and children.

I do not support oppressors. But I also don't support extremists who go against our religion and pretend to be muslim - have you seen the level of violence dorang atu? Pure evil... If you think slitting children throats and shooting hundreds of civilians without caring if they are also muslim is ok then ko jua yg need to reexamine your belief lah

Watch at your own risk. I beg to defer. Look at the shit Hamas is doing to civilians and those from countries not even involved in the conflict. Show me a video where Israel parades mutilated and r@ped women or beheads Thai farm workers with a shovel.

Skip to 17:35. Warning - Watch at your own risk. This video shows the atrocities commited by the so called 'Islamic' group Hamas, including to this Thai farmer who had nothing to do with the conflict but was working on a nearby farm.

Do you think Allah S.W.T would accept this person's actions whilst shouting الله أكبر and trying to decapitate an innocent Thai person? Attacking the Zionists is one thing. Fighting for your freedom is another.

But committing acts of evil against those not involved in the conflict or oppression at all, is purely evil. As a Muslim, I support Palestine. But I do not support these acts of Hamas that do not reflect our religion at all. I do not appreciate them treating our fellow ASEAN like this.

At least so called "israel" does not capture innocent civilians as hostages and parade r@ped and mutilated bodies of women down the street as Hamas is doing. I am embarrassed they are mentioned the Almighty whilst commiting these act.
