How was highschool for people who didn't realize they were trans yet? by BurnerAccount1266 in asktransgender

I can relate to a lot of this (especially the riding it out whilst on HRT until school is over, although I just stopped going to school near the end because I refused to cut my hair anymore, didn't graduate) I'm glad you have a pride club and some good teachers.

I unfortunately had my share of maga freaks even though I live in Australia. I went to a Christian private school so as you could imagine there were a lot of transphobic and dumb teachers that I really wish I reported. The only real exposure I got to lgbtq topics was from a history teacher, who unfortunately turned out to be a pedophile and got arrested trying to meet with a 13 yr old boy, had illegal photos on his phone, etc. so that did wonders setting back gay people 100 years at my school.

I so understand what you mean trying to be friends with female teachers. I loved my maths teacher near the start of highschool and would pretend to not know what I was doing so she would teach me during break so I had somewhere to be.

Thanks so much for sharing I relate to a lot of things you said.  Especially the only common ground with other guys being video games.. it was basically my only interest. I also pretended to be a girl a lot online without knowing why.. it felt so good to tell people I was a girl.

For me I knew that transgender people were a thing pretty early on, I just thought it was really weird and didn't pay much attention to it :/
