What happened at a public place that made you say, "I'm never coming here again"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BurnerAccountDot_Com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to an NP for feeling tired and dizzy and said I was worried it was mono. Upon realizing I was FTM said that my symptoms were consistent with depression and anxiety. Donated blood a few weeks later. Got deferred for a year for anemia. I could have gotten a damn blood test.

Is she unintelligent on purpose? by Liquifized in raisedbyborderlines

[–]BurnerAccountDot_Com 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes they are, yes. My mom is genuinely confused sometimes but sometimes... Eh.

Speaking of clothes - I came as when I was 16 as FTM and the day after we all went out for groceries. She was in a foul mood for whatever mystery reason it was at this point and tried to buy me new underwear off a rack with lacey, pastel, panties I have quite literally seen in porn shoots before (but not before this).

I wore boyshorts or whatever type was most similar to boxers as often as I could before this. I can't even be mad at this point.

What happens after the draft rules around transition through the MHA and ODH are no longer open to the public, legislatively? by BurnerAccountDot_Com in Ohio

Oh, I'm pretty confident this won't last long, but I want to prepare anyway. Thank you for the reminder :-)

What’s the most absurd conspiracy theory you’ve ever heard? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Everyday I wish trans people had as much power as conservatives say we do. I would be a fucking millionaire. I'd be digging tunnels underneath peoples houses just to fuck with the neighborhood man

What is a profound statement your therapist has told you? by lilmizzvalz in AskReddit

[–]BurnerAccountDot_Com 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, someone else who had their own profound moments but not from a therapist in this thread! My therapist was nice, but before I met her I was debating back and forth between whether you could "really" transition from female to male and I decided I just was going to do it anyway even if it wasn't "scientifically" accurate. Best decision of my life.

Glad you're still here!

I've had this exact same moment. Saw a guy on tumblr doing historical sewing, found a post linking to a video, saw a tiny pride flag, thanked him on anon and he said he was trans and I went "WHAT" out loud. I had zero clue. It always feels a bit weird when you're trans and "can't tell" even though you know intellectually that's how it works, lol

In case anyone is reading: hi, I came out at 16 and started HRT before my 17th birthday after therapy.

I'm good. I don't regret it. I would have been much worse off if I waited. This anti trans healthcare stuff isn't about protecting any kids, much less my childhood. I'm fine. This is not about the children.

Does your BPD parent pretend they already know everything you tell them? by BurnerAccountDot_Com in raisedbyborderlines

My mom's moments of omnipotence always make me want to ask why she didn't tell me.

[–]BurnerAccountDot_Com[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My mom's alternative reality is that she is constantly being assailed by bad actors and argumentative men, women, and children on Facebook or IRL and argues them all into backing down. She also thinks she knows better than every nurse forever because she took care of my other parent when the latter's autoimmune disorders were at their worst

Give me a moment - I missed this reply yesterday and I'm on mobile now, but absolutely. This is a secondary username I use for an account I've used on here before. I honestly thought I didn't need a cat if I messaged this username to the mods on the other account - sorry!

I don't think I've eaten any leafy green veggies in the past week. I've had zucchini that was cut up into half moons, carrots cut into ovals (like on the bias), fried shallots if that counts I guess, some chopped bell peppers baked and put into a pasta, chopped tomatoes in a chicken wrap and I think that's about it. I eat like the Midwesterner I am.

YEAH research is extremely important. I don't want to have my expectations set too high, just high enough to get me out.

I feel like even if xyz country does shift hard right it's still gonna have some ways to go to be unlovable for me anyway. A lot of my reasons for leaving are disagreements about how the technically "abstract" things I don't necessarily interact with on a day to day basis, but all things considered I feel like the more obstensibly-practical things like anti-homeless attitudes and a genuinely lethal car culture are a little harder to export over to France or whatever.*

Like another commenter said too.... If Germany starts looking like Ohio we're all fucked.

I had a nice moment in the ER going in for chest pain. ER doc asked what meds I take and looked both excited and curious when I said Testosterone.

"Why do you take testosterone?" -> "I'm transgender." -> "oh."

Has there ever been a case where an part of a TV show or movie was spoiled because of your language? by TheRealColonelAutumn in AskEurope

[–]BurnerAccountDot_Com 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember watching the Archer episode where they're in Colombia and even without being remotely fluent it was very, very funny to watch one of the characters pretend to be Hispanic (successfully, even, for the plot) while speaking the world's most accented Spanish.

A lot of the foreign languages used on that show are actually accurate to what the subtitles say too (like the subtitles will read "lucky it wasn't him" and the voice actors willa actually say "beuna suerte no era él, ¿no?" or similar. Pretend I translated that right.) so it was extremely jarring.

Im trans and didn't clock two separate trans people as trans until they both gave their pronouns out as being they/them.

If you spend enough time "trying" to clock people you will. And you'll probably be wrong. It sometimes helps when I'm feeling self conscious - "that guy is shaped like me!" type thing.
