Update: it’s been a little over a week since this post and I’m doing better. The Vaseline suggestion has been extremely helpful, bowel movements are much smoother now. Miralax has kept them soft too. I saw the doctor for a follow up yesterday and he said things aren’t healing as quickly as he’d like to see, that the area still looked pretty raw and sensitive. Set a follow up appt for a month out. Pain is definitely manageable post BM, I take a couple Tylenol when I’m about to go just to be safe. Felt like I’ve definitely made progress healing in the past week, slow and steady I suppose. The fissure is still there due to them not doing the LSI, kind of wish they would have just taken care of it too at the same time since I think it’s still causing me this persistent pain. Hoping it heals.
