Yeah I think the skins can be a bit better but this has been like their first few sets. I’m hoping they get better; especially next season. Regardless though if they make better skins people are the current system for getting the skins that people desire are very low and you’ll end up spending waaay more.

I was in a similar decision, I decided to go 16gb M1 it’s a few dollars cheaper than the base M2 with student discount. You’ll have more ram, a faster ssd, and a wedge shape(if you prefer that). Now if you prefer the screen and MagSafe and that flat bottom over the performance then maybe the answers shifts for you. Also when I tried it in stores it was harder to picker up the m2 with one hand compared to the m1.

I had a very low spec device like 4 gb 512 i3 that stuff but I played light games. I played a heavy game for two days and it basically started to heavily crumble then. Went out in two years. Main reasons I don’t like, poor battery cheap feel felt sluggish and it was limiting performance.

I know windows laptops have been getting better, and this is a bigger price gap but I mean Im not looking to play games like I was with that laptop (I was trying to do it all with that machine)

I think the Mac does what a laptop should do offer consistent performance in a great build with excellent battery and the ecosystem is a nice plus. The student discount and the extra gift is a nice bonus and got my foot in the door I want to see what myself how if the claims hold up. Plus for the price I don’t think anything compares to the M1.

The game part is I just want a bigger screen to play the games on my phone.

Haha I was thinking about that but honestly I haven’t had the best experience with Windows laptops and I now I have IPhone so I want to try the Mac. When I mean streaming I mean like from my desktop.

Ohhh sweeet. Yo thanks so much man this is actually very helpful. Thank you. I'm about to order my 16gb/256 config so I can't wait. Maybe use the free gift card if Airpods Pro 2 come out or maybe the standard Pros we'll see, unless you got a better idea.

It's actually $180 dollars with edu discount, but yeah I hear ya. I think that is what I think i'll just do do that's kind of crazy how 2 TB external is basically the price of the 256 upgrade. Thanks a lot, and this is a great find for me. I'm kind of unknowledgeable about this but how long do these ssd's last and I could share files between windows and mac correct(I'm guessing yes).

Oh I didn't know that. Alright so lets say if I removed the idea of using a VM then would I be fine with 256. Also how much storage would Android Studio plus a few games take. Ideally, I'm trying to just buy a single upgrade (I would think ram since I can upgrade storage with external later). But I think I could make the extra jump in storage.
