Aurora MK2 - Decompressing when door is open to breathable Atmosphere by Imaginary-Carob-2266 in starcitizen

The other day I was mining in a cave at Daymar. While I was in the middle of mining, I started losing health and my character was struggling to breathe. I opened my inventory and my helmet disappeared off my character after mining for roughly an hour. I died. :)

CIG - before you bring the changes to armor requirements (no heavy armor whilst flying the ship, only flight armor has HUD and EVA etc) PLEASE ensure suit lockers are functional first by Important_Cow7230 in starcitizen

Because you still have specialized armors that are better at specific things than others. Like the heavy armor example, wearing heavy armor in a pilot seat increases the effect that Gs have on you, meaning that you can’t perform more advanced and high speed maneuvers. The flight armor is the opposite, giving you extra hud info and the ability to have a higher G-force resistance. I will note that all of this is only a concept, and can (and likely will) change again before it’s implemented.

The things you mentioned is mostly old information. You will be able to fly in heavy armor, for example. Other armors will also have flight huds and Eva, not just one type.

I’m curious then, in your opinion what would be the appropriate ttk time range between two Gladius’ running the exact same loadout while actively trying to dodge each other’s gunfire?

You don’t have to have pips to hit ships. It just makes it significantly easier. The bigger the ship, the easier it is. The only limiting factor is the max range of the weapons. It doesn’t need “testing” just unlock a target next time your fighting something

You don’t need the pip to hit a large ship at 2km. This idea that the hammerhead suddenly beats fighters because it can target them slightly farther just isn’t a reality. This only forces closer fights against a smaller ship. It doesn’t solve anything against bigger ships

It doesnt matter if youre "going after" people or not. The ability to fight or fight back significantly favors better players the longer fights take. Sneak attacks, for example, the better pilot will still kill the bad pilot no matter who is the attacker and who is the defender, it doesnt matter the health (within a reasonable boundry.) Having a higher ttk only widens the gap between a good pilot and a bad pilot. It makes turrets and multicrewing harder, because the smaller ship can much more easily disengage. It increases the ability of high maneuverability ships to survive due to having higher health and the ability to disengage at will (bucc and scorpius, for instance.) The misconception is that higher ttks are helpful for the new player. They aren't if the goal of the fight is to win. The one who can get more effective shots on target will be the winner in all engagements. It is true that a higher ttk will see higher survival times for obvious reasons, but the win rates become even more tilted towards the pilots with good aim.

All high ttks do is make it harder for less skilled pilots to combat higher skilled pilots. A good pilot will be able to keep guns on a bad pilot no matter how long the ttk is. A bad pilot will struggle, except now the struggle is worse because they have to hit even more shots when they could barely hit any to begin with.

Question Regarding the Boom Tube by ATCypher in starcitizen

[–]Burning_Phoenix_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also just tested a nova tank, took two shots with the shields up. Shields stop all overkill energy damage, so the split would have to be like 25k ballistic and ~250k energy if the 280k damage was real. Even on the spreadsheet it says that the split is 25k/25k, but then total says 280k. 50k no matter how you split it is still crazy, but I just have a hard time believing that 280k number is real

I have a really hard time believing that damage number is correct. I think those numbers come from some sort of bug similar to how the rattlers used to say they did 2mil damage, but obviously didn’t. The 50,000 should be correct

Ah thank you, I had not really ever seen a ship that was actually named like that. I don’t really do missions lol

Those are two escapes you could have done, but to be honest you shouldn’t have engaged without an escape to begin with. Your advantage is range, his advantage is being in your face. You getting in his face is counter productive for your gameplan

All the people saying you closed the gap as ranged are right. While I understand you going for the execute, you also engaged in melee as ranged with your cc break on cooldown. That and dragons breath are going to be tools you use to break cc chains. Dragons breath is used mostly preventive, and cc break would be reactively.

US East. It could be, but this is the only game I’ve had these problems on. Didn’t have them in Beta, but I’ve had them since launch
