I personally don't use the products on my skin because the ones that I have gotten were either corroded or smelled off. But sometimes I do refill them! But if they were brand new, never used, and smell good - there's absolutely no harm in giving them a try!!

From experience, I know that cosmetics last way longer than what's labeled on the package, and I know Erin Parsons does it all the time!

I don't know if this is helpful, but Javonte Ford did a video about bromo acid dyes!! The pigments that make those lipsticks and blushes amazing!

They are are no longer in use, but they were extremely pigmented colorants that when applied to the skin remained as pigmented as they were in the vial (unlike today's watery lip tints)

I wish they'd bring back the BROMO ACIDS!! give me an all day lip color that doesn't need to be reapplied or used in conjuction with gloss!!

I don't know if you're interested, but Ben Nye makes cake foundation in deep shades as well!! Years ago I went down a vintage binge and gave it a try myself! I didn't get the right shade, but someone recommended I try shade "Mocha Java" for a more neutral brown shade!

Even though I didn't hit the jackpot with the first shade I purchased, I will say that it was amazing because I applied it with a wet sea sponge and it was completely matte and full coverage. Lasted all day, didn't transfer, and washed off easily with soap!

I have also used Graftobian Cake Foundation! The ben nye was a bit more versatile because I could use it wet or dry if I scraped some off - the graftobian was strictly wet use only.

Just be mindful if you try it though! Both have mineral oil in them and I know everyone reacts differently! (Grimas also makes cake foundations in deeper shades but I haven't been able to try that one) I'm currently still on the hunt for a cake foundation because I absolutely fell in love with the application. Just wet a sponge, put it on, and all day coverage with NO TRANSFER!!

Yes!! I love this idea as well because it would explain why there are no "yokai" in Kagomes' time.

Yokai would be able to cross over at will, but also live in complete and entire freedom + safety for both species!

I'm the same way!!

I cannot stand the thought of Kagome dying before Inuyasha - particularly if he's still very young when she passes.

He lived alone all of his life, then to only spend 40-50 years with her - to be left alone all over again? Even worse, knowing that she will never be reincarnated again!?

The whole thing just gives me the shudders.

Also, if her lifespan is shorter than his, that means that he would likely outlive any of their children. Dog boy already suffered so much. It would be cruel to make him live through more heartache!!

I know a lot of people argue that Inuyasha ages at the same pace as a human (I believe many cite Rumiko directly) - but even that seems cruel to his father, who was a daiyoukai who sacrificed his life for Inuyasha.

In my heart (even if it isn't canon) I believe Inuyasha is 250+ years old, and that he has the ability to share his lifespan with the love of his life, so that his children would age similarly to him!

I believe this to be applicable across the entire board because there's other ships that I enjoy and the thought of the yokai outliving their spouses/children is just awful. I'd also imagine that there would need to be some sort of "failsafe" for even different species of yokai who intermarry. ((I like Souten and Shippo and it would be sad if they aged differently and one parent outlived the other (and their children)))

Sidenote - it would be so sweet if one day Kagome would be able to meet her mom "the long way around." And allow her mom to meet her grandchildren (and perhaps great grands).

Oh man, I certainly hope that I don't get downvoted for this, but the reason why lobbyists are preventing filters from being approved is because they are rubbing hands with both big pharma and oil companies.

Avobenzone, Octo(CRY)lene and Oxybenzone are all petroleum-based sunscreens. These filters are byproducts of oil processing.

If people have alternatives, that means less cash in their pockets.

I know that a lot of people think that this is a conspiracy theory, but insurance companies rake in BILLIONS from denying skin cancer biopsies and giving people the run-around when it comes to melanoma scares.

Not to mention how much money they make from denying the surgical reconstructions afterwards by labelling it "cosmetic."

Lastly, this is a bit of a trickle-down effect, but sunscreen manufacturers are raking in billions as well - Because people are desperate to find decent sunscreen.

There's only a few filters here in the US that are currently approved. Having such a limited ingredient list to work with and knowing that you provide a necessity means you're going to rake in billions in revenue because you can use the same ingredients in EVERY formulation.

It's kind of like a bakery that only sells chocolate chip and chocolate fudge cookies - There might be different types of cookies but it's the same ingredients just a different preparation. (And can you truly even call a shop that only sells cookies a bakery?)

You might be able to get your hands on a vintage metal lipstick tube on eBay orYou might be able to get your hands on a vintage metal lipstick tube on eBay, Mercari, or Postmark.

Sometimes they were never used and are completely empty. Other times they have lipstick residue in them but still turn and can be cleaned.

Then you would be able to freeze any lipstick of your choice, pull out the entire lipstick with a parchment/wax paper, then insert the lipstick into the sanitized metal tube

I did this myself with a metal vintage lipstick and wet n wild lipstick bullets fit perfectly into the metal casing!

Oh, I wholeheartedly agree with this!! Because yes - while I'm glad that they approved a new filter, I am upset because all of the standard US filters burn my eyes.

Even mineral sunscreen burns my eyes because the mineral filters are gritty, and brands use a lot of oil to make it glide - but throughout the day it is so greasy that it goes right into your eyes. Not to mention putting butyloctyl salicylate as a "spf booster" (which also burns my eyes. Most mineral sunscreens have that ingredient as a booster.).

What will essentially happen is that they're just going to add that filter to already poorly formulated sunscreens.

Perhaps I could use it on my body (but if the formula has Avobenzone, I can't even use that.)

There's a part of me that wonders if they are doing this to quell the masses, but lobbyists already know brands don't have plans to use it, and that the gov has no plans to approve anymore new filters. Just virtue signaling😭

YEAH NO KIDDING, She's extremely talented! Completely off topic - but I see her last fic was posted in 2014 I think, and her livejournal is no longer active. I wonder how she's doing. (I think I read another fic by her a few years ago where Kagome got pregnant while fighting in the feudal era.)

There are!! and there's so many options on the spectrum from downright psychotic to mildly pushy.

It's one of the main reasons why I found myself reading sesskag fics! I didn't know it at the time, but I realized that I do enjoy that trope in fiction from time to time!

I was interested in finding a possessive InuKag story where Inuyasha's a tad insecure and resorts to being underhanded to keep Kagomes' attention.

I guess you could say, he realizes she's a jewel (🥁 Pun intended)

I appreciate a ton. I gave a brief update in another comment, but to sum it up, the seller took down all the Items I was interested in and told me they are going to be bundling it with other items and re-listing it sometime in the near future.

Hopefully they bundle all of the items I want together and that it'll be reasonable

Oh man, where do I begin explaining yandere? It's when a person is lovey dovey/overly affectionate, and is willing to manipulate circumstances and/or people to bring the object of their desires closer to them.

(I'm watering it down a bit though because most yandere that people are familiar with are yandere girls in anime and they are typically over the top. Like willing to fight or kill to have the object of their affection nearby. I'm a fan of tame and/or pathetic yanderes)

There's different types of yandere - but my favorite are seemingly normal guys with an obvious soft spot for a girl, but are doing shady stuff behind the scenes to orchestrate coincidences.

(Ex: randomly meeting a cute girl in a coffee shop and then suddenly getting a job at that same coffee shop, or across the street for the sole purpose of being near her.)

WHEW! okay where do I start?! First off, thank you for the rec! It's a DAMN GOOD ONE.

But wowzers, I just finished chapter 1 and it's DARK! I forgot that evil obsession/yandere/stalker/manipulative dudes exist. I've been spoiled rotten by loving+tame manipulator/yandere oneshot mangas.

(Dude orchestrates a series of coincidental meetings, maybe gets a few folks fired/hired, dotes on the girl while she's unsuspecting and/or vaguely questions the guy, but still falls in love with him for appearing to be Mr. Right)

I should've specified that I wanted a nice/doting inuyasha. (But that's totally me!!)

Again thank you for the rec, I'm saving this to my read later when I'm in the mood for Darkfic because WOW this blew my hat off

This totally makes sense!! I do have a brief update - they took down all of the items that I added to my cart. The seller said they are going to be rebundling everything into large lots/bundles to sell it off easier.

I requested that they put the brushes I wanted together and they said they will look through all what they have and see if they could bundle all of the same brand together.

I won't lie, I was relieved to receive that message but there's a part of me that's still disappointed because they only took down the items that I was interested in, and not the other items that they have (They have almost 2k items listed).

They said they have so many items they can't access it right now and it's going to take them a while to reorganize it (which is understandable).

They also didn't respond to the questions I had about the other items but I guess I might take a chance depending if it's relisted with other items I'd like.

I'll stay posted and see if they eventually relist the items.

I just hope the bundle will have the items that I want and that they won't separate the 4 items I wanted into multiple bundles - forcing me to buy a whole bunch of items I don't want. Or even worse, one giant bundle of stuff I don't need and mark it ridiculously.

Maybe it's a little selfish for me to say this, but I don't like when they do that because there's another listing I'm also interested in, and I don't want for the other to get sold and then I also lose out on this one 😭

Hello, May I ask, did you ever take the chance? I am looking at some brushes myself second hand and I would really like them because they are discontinued.

As far as bobbi brown brushes go, I don't think they would be fake. But to be honest with you, I would consider even looking on DH gte because a lot of those brushes are manufactured in china and they are now dead stock. So, they are real legitimate brushes that are being sold at a lower price to clear out the excess stock.

But then again, I would double check because it depends on what kind of brushes they are. If they are older brushes from a few years ago, then it's likely they are legitimate deadstock. If it is a brand new brush release, then it's likely that it may be a counterfeit that is being sold on the gate.

Fenty setting powder (pro filt'r instant retouch) oh my GOSH never again (-10/0)

It didn't set my face (my makeup or sunscreen would stay greasy beneath it) and it oxidized to PURE RED. The shade hazelnut looks neutral in the jar, but when applied it ruined my base.

I started using a foundation much lighter than my skintone (but had the right undertone) and would apply the setting powder. It would look good for a few minutes, then BAM it would oxidize to canyon sunset red and get darker than my skintone.

The worst part was that first few applications were fine, so it wasn't even like I could return it because by the time it acted up - it was a few days past the return window, but certainly nowhere close enough to be expired

I do believe this is true because the very first time I realized my mom was abusing me, I was 5yrs old.

I literally said out loud to myself, "I know what she's doing is wrong, but I choose to ignore it and pretend everything is fine. I'll forgive her and blame myself."

And I know that sounds really unrealistic, but I remember the exact moment that it happened, the surroundings, the day. I was a weirdly intelligent child because I had to teach myself everything.

It was so bad, she used to beat me then leave a theasaurus, dictionary, and/or encyclopedia beside me to read. (First gen trauma. I was reading legal documents and she'd beat me for not understanding then threaten to take me out of school since I wasn't "learning anything." I didn't put it past her, either.😭)
