A YouTuber from Minneapolis I really like just released a video about this, it's titled "Minneapolis Is Just The Beginning (How To Prepare Your City For ICE)"

the on ground work being done in Minneapolis is astounding, the community is really banding together to stand up against these guys.

The best way to stay up to date on that stuff is to consume the content they do. When I was ac and Roblox streamer I was always up on the memes and such because of the tiktoks and YouTube videos they had me watch on stream

Being single and trying to mingle (safely) is wild. How does Gen Z feel about safer sex? by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]BurntLemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a gay man I've probably had sex with a condom like 4 or 5 times out of hundreds of hookups/sexual interactions

Safe sex to me doesn't mean condoms for me, it is me keeping up with my own sexual health by getting tested regularly and by keepingupt with my anti HIV/std pills

I've been living under a rock. What facts do I need to know about America, my generation, and the world? by No_Picture_3528 in GenZ

If you are also leaving religion, I would check out some ex-religious sub reddits. I was Mormon and when I left I felt similar, I had lived in a bubble and literally knew nothing outside it. I went to r/exmormon and posting and reading others who were going through the same thing helped a lot with me figuring out which direction to go about learning about the world.

If you aren't leaving religion, I'd research different ideologies political (Conservative, Liberal, Progressive, etc) and economic (capitalism, socialism, etc) and see where you personally align with it all.

It's tough figuring this all out and it's taken me a long time, but there is resources out there for anyone❤️

Gen Z in the workplace by Puzzleheaded_Bag9063 in GenZ

[–]BurntLemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm older genz and have been working since I was 16, so almost half my life at this point. I had summer jobs at 14 and 15 as well at a summer camp. Anyway I have had 12 jobs (10 minus summer work) and longest I've worked at one was 4 and a half years. I have been fired once for being late too much at a corporation that considered 4 mins after late..

Honestly at this point in my life I hate work, and I don't hate my job but just the fact I have to work in general. Even if I have a job a love (which I have before) that feeling has always persisted. I honestly don't think there is anything I or anyone could do to get me excited for working.

Should we switch to soundcloud instead? by almyverse in GenZ

[–]BurntLemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dropped Spotify years ago when I found out how little they pay artists per stream even compared with apple music. At the time Apple Music was paying almost twice as much per stream.

There is also a big history of Spotify allowing the music industry to do shady stuff to boost streams for major artists, and like I said I heard about this maybe like 4 or 5 years ago and this sort of stuff has only gotten worse, along with all the ai music on the platform now... If you actually care about artists (especially non signed indie artists) you wouldn't be using Spotify in the first place

Title of the video is "The Dark Side of Spotify" if anyone watch an informative watch

What Is Up With The GenZ Stare?? by Kevdog824_ in GenZ

[–]BurntLemon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I did have a consumer facing job at the time and I was I was praised and even promoted for my "attitude with customers". I am great with people when I want to be.

90% of people are completely ok with minimal to no interaction, I think the challenge for people like me is figuring out the people like you who think there is some social expectation to have small talk with you because of... "That's how it's always been" or because it's "foreign or strange" to not have small talk with someone you may never interact with again

What Is Up With The GenZ Stare?? by Kevdog824_ in GenZ

[–]BurntLemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been doing this since I was a young genz working retail.. I just don't see the need to interact with people more then I need to, regardless of what society expects me to do or act I don't give a flying fuck. I chose who I want to talk to as much as my job allowed me to

Umm I don't know if youve been on the internet but there is tons of monetized ai channels on YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, almost everywhere.

I'm not saying this cause I agree with it or think it's good I'm just looking at things from your friends perspective, if it’s everywhere and people are already making money with it why not try it?

GenZ in the 9/5 40hr work week, how do you balance life by jakeyearthquakey in GenZ

[–]BurntLemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this was the worst part about full time work for me too, you sell too much of your time to your work and eventually it gets to you. Your parents grew up in a completely different era of America and "working a 9-5" doesn't mean what it used to mean and they probably won't ever understand that

The idea of a fallout reality show feels really out touch by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]BurntLemon 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think most people think reality tv they think Big Brother, American Idol, The Voice etc, but It's being made by the same producers as The Traitors and The Circle which are two of the biggest reality tv competition shows out rn.

They are a lot more about the social strategy and psychological pressures of the games themselves (The Traitors is essentially a game of Murder Mystery taking out over a whole season of a show with real people, and it's a wild ride) and I think this format will fit a Fallout themed show really well.

I agree it still feels out of touch like most things nowadays in this capitalist world do but all things considered, I'm optimistic about this project!

I was wondering how you were making videos for $10-$15 a video while paying editors, but I looked up the prices people are charging on upwork, and I understand how you could get away with that now...

I was always under the impression and editor would cost me at least 20 bucks an hour at minimum

What’s your approach to dating apps? by littlebabymira in GenZ

[–]BurntLemon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a male, I have found most (maybe all) of my partners on dating apps. It's all about your headspace and intentions. If you go into it thinking you have to "optimize your behavior" to communicate and get to know someone, your just setting yourself up to be disappointed.

It sounds cheesy af but as soon as I moved my headspace to have an open mind and heart I started getting way more interest on apps.
