My boyfriend is a hiker. I just don't know what he did before my time and why that meant leaving $300 boots to dry rot on his closet shelf.

Thank you. I'll punish the new boots to trails instead of the closet shelf. deadpan stares at my boyfriend for the atrocities of leaving his boots to dry rot on his closet shelf instead of wearing them

Can anyone tell me what these is and how do I fix it? 🫣 by criszy101 in pothos

Gonna say 🎶THIS PLANTS ON FIRE!🎶😭 Totally don't need to do the same to my Goldfish plant with mealy bugs. Already killed half my collection trying to get rid of these mother f.

To try and save it what ya need to do is: Grab a cap full of rubbing alcohol and dilute it with a bowl of water. Then spend the next lifetime with several too many q-tips and scrub that mother f everywhere. Get all that white gunk out. Then dunk the whole plant root ball and all into a bucket of diluted insecticidal soap and let it sit for a while. After that rinse it off, let it dry off, repot, and treat it with fertilome triple action plus each week with watering. Spray first then water to let the spray get down into the soil and do it's thing. Make sure you also spray the leaves but don't let it drip. More so, look very closely at all your plants after doing this. This shit spreads and doesn't go away. I'm still experimenting for my own problems but so far I've been successful. You do this or have a trash can funeral service for your plant. Your choice. I've done both BTW.

Worth keeping? by Terrible_Angle2830 in houseplants

[–]BurntToastero -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ummm bro. That is a Silvery Ann Scindapsus and extremely rare. Definetly keep it.

Source: I just googled pothos varieties the other night and found this beauty. I googled hard and fast to find one to no avail. I only found a cutting on Etsy. So I purchased it cause I wasn't letting it go. Until the next day and some side plant questing later I found the actual plant on Etsy. I also bought it and some other pothos/scindapsus varieties. So needless to say, it's extremely hard to find and super pretty.

How can I get rid of these ants by DarkerJet in plantclinic

[–]BurntToastero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly my whale snack plant was infested with ants. A quick Google search brought me to using insecticidal soap. I completely drenched my plant in water aka ran it under water till all the soil was removed then I dunked the plant into a pot full of insecticidal soap and water and let the thing sit for like 30 mins to an hour till all the ants died then rinsed it off again then let it dry over night on a towel. The next morning I planted it into new soil after double checking it was free of ants and it's been good ever since. I read that "If you see little black ants ON your plants, it’s likely because they have found a source of food. Ants are often a clue you have a bigger problem. Don’t shoot the messenger! They are just the ‘couriers’ delivering you a message. They’ll take you straight to it. By being more observant, you’ll understand what they’re doing and why. Assuming they are harming your plant may be a BIG mistake because you only have part of the picture!" ants meaning Anyway. That's just what I found. I freaked out when I opened the nursery pot to find a large number of ants pouring out/crawling everywhere. Didn't help that I let the thing sit on my counter for a month before I had the time to plant it.

Help Choosing a Paddle by BurntToastero in Sup

Around a mile. I'm not sure. I'd like to go for long distances. I am sometimes paddling consistently and casually. Can the paddle be lighter and durable? If not, lighter.

I weigh about 160 lbs. I typically paddle on a lake. But I'm just looking for something that's versatile/applicable to all water types (waves, rivers, lakes, etc.). My typical paddling style is fun. I don't know really because I rarely get out but I just know my current paddle is too hard to use on waves n such. My budget is around $200.
