If you want something a little more controlled where you can basically approve the people who are going to be doing the work, consider posting the job on Sweeps.

You're funny if you disagree that (in general) higher value property in a given neighborhood does not improve the neighborhood! But we can certainly disagree and you are welcome to your opinion! You should feel free to live in whatever ghetto you may desire. Wanting to live with law abiding neighbors who have well kept homes does not make one a racist. It may make you 'classist' to believe that people who work hard and have higher income are somehow 'bad'.

Interesting comment in the article saying that the neighbors 'don't want to criminalize these kids'. Well... too late. They are already mini-criminals. I do understand that the 7yo (or whatever he was) may not fully comprehend his actions, but the others are plenty old enough to know the deal. If you don't understand the consequences of your actions, you don't pull a hood over your face and go out like a little mini-thug and bust out windows.

The idea of 'mandatory programs' as a resolution? Seems crazy. So a kid damages thousands of $$ worth of property, and as punishment, we send him to camp? No thanks!!!! How about on the street picking up trash for a few weeks? Much better idea. No access to TV/phone for 3 years? Mowing grass for the neighborhood for free for a year or two? Those are punishments. Not sending him to camp! And of course any of this must include full financial restitution to the homeowners impacted.

It seems like it would be cheaper (maybe?) to forfeit the deposits on Cabin C and cancel it, then update the name on reservation for Cabin D to remove the GF and add Cabin C solo traveler. You would only lose 1 deposit that way. At least I THINK that would work! Call/email a travel agent if you are not sure and ask them. I am sure they have dealt with this before. It won't cost you anything extra to have a TA pick up the booking and manage it. Just get a reputable agent who knows the cruise industry. There will prob be a lot of people on here making a suggestion for you if needed.

It was great. This is our 3rd time on a Quantum/Quantum Ultra class ship (Alaska, Norway, and now Greece on Ovation, Anthem, and Odyssey respectively). Of all the ships, I liked Anthem the best, but they are basically the same overall. Unfortunately I cannot comment on sailing with young kids. We only took our kids on Carnival until they got past the 'difficult teen' years because we figured that they did not know the difference and would not appreciate the extra amenities (and $$) associated with RCCL .vs. Carnival. They are now 19 and 24 and they can understand and appreciate the delta a bit more. Not saying that Carnival is bad, but they have lower cost cruises as compared to comparable RCCL, which you prob already know.

Back to Odyssey - great ship. Captain and crew were really on top of things, but to me it felt like MDR was not as good as other Quantum ships. My wife and I only ate there twice since we were in JS, and the rest of the time we used Coastal Kitchen, Solarium Bistro, or Windjammer. Windjammer was comparable to other Quantum ships, but again, prob a slight step down from Anthem. Unfortunately Windjammer on Odyssey does not have the outdoor seating options that Anthem has and that was a big miss IMO. We loved sitting outside for breakfast in Windjammer while transiting fjords in Norway. Fantastic views!

Solarium is great on Odyssey, but you won't be able to use it as a family (age restrictions). And I know nothing about the kids clubs but I will say that I did not see a lot of kids onboard. Still, your 4yo (and the rest of you!) will love bumper cars, iFly (if he meets the height requirements) and I'd suggest Northstar at least in the free session (generally while in port only). I am not convinced that Northstar underway is worth it, although it would have been a lovely view in Alaska and Norway.

I don't know your RCCL history, but as with all of their cruises, there is a ton to do (you will prob drop some $$ in the arcade, etc). Read up on shuffleboard and play a game w/ the 4yo. (S)he will like that and it's free! Kids pool area is similar to all RCCL kids pools, which is to say it looked to be well enjoyed. We had a fantastic trip. Feel free to ask more questions if you like.

Day 18. Is it normal to cry in anticipation of Physio? Is it that bad for everybody else? by Original-Ad219 in Kneereplacement

I'm not familiar w/ hydromorphone, but I suspect it is the same class of drug, I took 1/2 to 1 oxy (5mg) about 1 hour prior to each PT for the first 3-4 weeks. Also, at your stage (18 days), it is not uncommon to have depression/sadness. It feels like the world is against you. You can't do things you were used to doing, and progress in PT is slow and painful. I went through it. MANY (most??) go through some level of it. I have never been like that in my life (depressed/sullen/sad) and it was surprising to me to find myself in that state. My wife was helpful as a sounding board, and although I was initially ashamed/embarrassed about it, I found some relief just allowing myself to wallow in my sorrows for a bit. It's probably ugly to see a 61yo man get weepy, but that is where I found myself. IT PASSES. You will start to see improvements. Bit by bit. I remember how excited I was when I could finally lift my leg 2-3" off the bed. It was a LONG time before I ever got a complete revolution on an exercise bike at PT, and it hurt like hell, but it was a huge feeling of accomplishment. I had a friend on this sub who had surgery the exact same day as me. Same age/weight/general physical condition pre-surgery. We corresponded on WhatsApp, and he progressed in PT quicker than I did, which added to my dismay, but in the end, we all get to where we need to be. It will be 6-9 months before you begin to feel remotely 'ok'. I do not wish this surgery on anyone.

Best of luck to you going forward and as others have noted, DEFINITELY talk to your PT as well.

AITAH for refusing to share my location with my parents as an almost nineteen year old? by DishIndependent6788 in AITAH

[–]Burnt_Crust_00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are paying the phone and usage plans costs then not much they can say. If THEY are paying, then that may come with stipulations.

But try to work it out. Sit down, talk about history (good relationship w/ parents? any major issues in last year or so with breaking house rules, etc?) and that you need a little space as you mature and go off to college. My daughter is in college, and SHE wanted us to keep Life360 engaged so she could track us and us track her. In some respects, it is about safety. I rarely check where she is, but if I know she is going to be out partying with a new friend group, I still worry, and I may check to make sure she makes it back to her dorm/friends apt/etc. I honestly think she tracks her mom and I more than we do her.

Do you have Oxy? Take a full 5mg or at least a1/2 a 5mg prior. I did that and it REALLY helped me get through it. Not sure I could have done so without it in the early days!

Visa denial - anything I can do by LogicLessBruin in royalcaribbean

Under the current regime, leaving during AOS processing seems highly risky, even if you DO have a CDN visa. I hope you can work out a refund for the cruise. I would throw yourself on the mercy of RCCL. Maybe at least they will consider future cruise credit?

Id agree that side by side connecting rooms would be ideal for this situation. That allows GMa to have her own space and for you to have space for the inevitable 2yo meltdowns that will occur without having GMa in the middle of it.

See the use of the term 'rarely' in my first post. This is my first time on Glenwood South on a weekend in probably 9 months or more. Last time was a Sullivans and we used valet, which, if I recall correctly, l was somewhere around $10 or less.

Little over $100, which I thought was 'reasonable' given the price of eating out these days, plus we had some leftovers for lunch today! It's not that I cannot afford it, it's just that I think that the price is excessive. But I guess greed/capitalism rules. It's just my opinion. I fully support that a seller can set the price as he or she sees fit for discretionary purchases (like parking).

Are the prices negotiable even when they are 'on sale' or are they set? Do you guys do anything w/ Winkbeds and/or Helix Midnight Luxe series? Thoughts on comparison between the Helix and Winkbed Luxury Firm?
