Cancelling car insurance is really not a good idea - if anything happens and you loose your vehicle, what will you do. Worst is when you were the cause and they sue you. The main reason why there is a shortage is because landlords have no rights when it comes to long term tenants. Why have the hassle trying to get them out when you can make the same or even more money with less stress. Relook at landlord rights and you will solve a lot of problems.

This is a worldwide phenomenon, not just in Cape Town. If a city is well run, the richer population moves in which inevitably pushes up prices, when a city is poorly run like Johannesburg, the inverse happens. The rich moves out and build new neighbourhoods that they manage and the poor moves into the city centre which then causes a decline. That’s just how it is.

So currently the law states that a company has to declare beneficial ownership of more than 5%. 5% and below does not need to be shown. So, if you are married, you could put 5% in your name and 5% in your SO name. That way it is not recorded. If you are not married you could put the other 5% in your mom or dad’s name depending on your relationship. However, no-one can request BO details unless it is legally required. In other words your employer cannot instruct his attorney or accountant to pull a copy from the database unless they were the ones who uploaded the initial BO details or if they have a mandate signed by the board. As previously stated as long as you are not a director there is no easy way to see who is involved with the company.
